How to upload photos and videos to Google Photos quickly

Clicking photos and recording videos have become a part of our daily lives and storing them safely comes attached to this. Mobile phone and camera users often face the problem of limited storage devices which ultimately forces them to lose their images or phones. In such cases, Google Photos or similar storage services work as the best solution. 

Among different services, Google Photos has its product that offers free storage and allows easy access to photos and videos. A Google account provides 15GB of free storage optimally enough for a general user. How to Upload Photos and Videos to Google Photos? 

Upload Photos From your Windows, Mac or Linux via Web Browser

  1. Open the Google Photos web link on the desktop www.photos.google.com 
  2. Click on the ‘Upload’ option on the right side of the search bar.
  3. It will ask for different sources. Select ‘Computer’ to open the desktop storage.
  4. Browse the file and select the desired photos or videos. Click on the ‘open’ option to automatically start uploading the files.

From Smartphone (Android and iPhone) via Google Photos App

  1. Open the Google Photos app. If you don’t have the app, click on the following links to download and install it for Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
  2. Login with a valid Google account.
  3. Photos and videos clicked on the device will be shown. Click on the file which you want to back up.
  4. Tap the ‘upload’ icon to get it started.

From Google Drive to Google Photos

Interestingly, Google also allows transferring photos and videos from Google Drive to Google Photos through a desktop. Here are the quick methods to do so.

  1. Open the Google Photos web link on the desktop www.photos.google.com 
  2. Click on the ‘Upload’ option.
  3. Tap on ‘Google Drive’ to open A pop-up showing photos saved on it.
  4. Select the photos and videos you want to upload on Google Photos.

Saving photos and videos from Google Drive is not available for business accounts, so such users need to first download the particular files and then upload them to Google Photos. How to automatically upload photos and videos to Google Photos.

How to automatically upload photos and videos to Google Photos

Google allows users to opt for uploading every photo and video automatically to the Google Photos through Backup and Sync settings available on the mobile app. Here’s the step to activate it.

  1. Open the Google Photos app on your smartphone. 
  2. Find your profile picture in the top right corner to tap on it. 
  3. Click on the Photos Setting option. 
  4. Now, click on the first option that says ‘Back and Sync’. Enable the option.
