Huawei will officially announce the Mate XTs Ultimate Design on September 4, 2025 in China, marking its second tri-fold smartphone after the Mate XT’s debut in September 2024 and global rollout in February 2025. As the name suggests, this is going to be an “s” upgrade to the Mate XT.
The Mate XTs will keep the tri-fold form factor, offering a 10.2-inch LTPO OLED screen that can fold into 7.9-inch and 6.4-inch sizes. It will pack Huawei’s Kirin 9020 5G chip with Maleoon 920 GPU, satellite communication, stylus support for the slim M-Pencil, and a redesigned Tiangong hinge that improves durability while minimizing crease visibility.
Cameras include a 50MP primary sensor with variable aperture and Huawei’s Red Maple imaging tech, alongside an improved periscope telephoto lens. Storage options will be 16GB/256GB, 16GB/512GB, and 16GB/1TB, all paired with a 5,600 mAh battery supporting 66W wired and 50W wireless charging. The phone will run HarmonyOS 4.2.

Buyers will also get more variety in colors this time, with Dark Black, White, Hibiscus Purple, and Ruihong Red joining the lineup, compared to just Red and Black on the Mate XT. Pre-reservations have already gone live in China via Huawei’s online store, with availability beginning there first before reaching international markets.
The Mate XTs will start at about $2,100 (15,000 yuan), which is significantly cheaper than the Mate XT’s $3,500 launch price.
