Hyundai Motor India Limited has announced plans to launch 26 new models in India by the financial year 2030 (FY30). This includes seven entirely new nameplates, which could also mark the brand’s entry into fresh segments such as multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs) and off-road SUVs. The newly-launched 2025 Hyundai Venue is the first vehicle in this series; upcoming models will follow.

Key Details Of Hyundai’s FY30 Plans in India

Of the 26 new models, seven will be completely new nameplates, six will undergo complete model redesigns, seven will be updated versions, and six will be new variants of existing models. Some of these vehicles will help the automaker enter new categories in India, such as MPVs positioned above the Alcazar and off-road SUVs rivalling those of the likes of the Mahindra Thar and Maruti Jimny.
The powertrain mix includes 13 combustion-engine models, six CNG variants, five dedicated electric vehicles, and eight hybrid models, providing a practical bridge to electrification in India. It’s worth noting that the company’s first locally manufactured electric vehicle is expected to arrive by 2027.
Hyundai also plans to launch an India-specific electric SUV with complete localization of design and manufacturing. With all the launches and new models, the company aims to increase its market share to 15% by FY30.

How Will Hyundai Get There?

For this, the automaker plans to invest Rs. 45,000 crores (around $5.5 billion) in India, with 60% focused on product development and R&D, including the localization of design and engineering functions, and the remaining 40% on capacity expansion and upgrading manufacturing facilities.
The company also plans to launch its luxury Genesis brand in India by 2027. Moreover, the company aims to significantly expand its product range to include compact SUVs, lifestyle SUVs, premium crossovers, and MPVs, offering diverse customer choices under the brand umbrella.
While the next-generation Venue is the first in the series of 26 launches, the following vehicle could be the Hyundai Bayon crossover, which will be based on the i20 platform but feature a slightly raised, coupe-like roofline, making it rival the Maruti Fronx. Other upcoming launches could include a refreshed version of the i20, Grand i10 Nios, Exter, and other popular models.

For now, the Indian automobile market is riding a significant surge driven by lower car prices (thanks to GST 2.0 reforms) and festive offers, which have led to record sales during Diwali 2025. Maruti Suzuki India Limited remains the market leader with approximately 30% to 41.6% market share, followed by Mahindra and Hyundai in third place.
