Apple released its top-of-the-line iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models on September 12, 2023. Thanks to the new A17 Pro chipset, the Pro iPhones are not only the most powerful iPhones but the most powerful smartphones out there. The A17 Pro chipset offers 10% faster performance than the A16 Bionic chipset on the iPhone 14 Pro models. Further, iPhone 15 Pro models come with 8GB of RAM. Combined, the faster chipset and the RAM should take over every other mobile device out there, and that is exactly what the iPhone 15 Pro Geekbench results suggest.

iPhone 15 Pro Geekbench Scores

Per a recent Geekbench listing, the iPhone 15 Pro (listed with the model number iPhone 16,1) scores 2,908 points in the single-core and 7,238 points in the multi-core performance test. These benchmark scores are significantly higher than those of the iPhone 14 Pro from 2022, which scored 2,642 points in the single-core and 6,739 points in the multi-core performance test. Drawing from the numbers, we’re looking at a 10% improvement in the single-core and about 7% rise in the multi-core tests.

Interestingly, the iPhone 15 Pro Max (listed with the model number iPhone 16,2) scores slightly lower on the benchmark test than the iPhone 15 Pro. The top-end smartphone by iPhone gets 2,846 points in the single-core and 7,024 points in the multi-core test, about 11% higher than the iPhone 14 Pro Max’s score. Moreover, the benchmark scores suggest that both iPhones offer better performance than their predecessor, as promised by Apple at the “Wonderlust” event.

iPhone 15 Pro Geekbench scores

When comparing the latest iPhone 15 Pro models to one of the most popular Android flagships, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC) scored about 1,956 points in the single-core test and about 5,126 points in the multi-core test. Further, the Google Pixel 7 Pro (Tensor G2) gets 1,404/3,368 points. Even with the next generation of Snapdragon or Tensor chipsets, Android phones will have difficulty catching up to the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
