Introducing Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max through CAD thanks to the courtesy of tipster ShrimpApplePro on Twitter. Going by the username @VNchocoTaco, ShrimpApplePro has shared the latest CAD-based renders for the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro Max slated to arrive later this year. The source is said to be from a case manufacturer which means the dimensions and other details might be accurate.

iPhone 15 Pro Max Design Shows USB-C, Solid-State Buttons & More

Design-wise, we see a triple camera bump at the back which looks more pronounced than ever. In fact, the iPhone 15 Pro CAD leak highlighted the same as well. On the front, we have a pill+hole cutout on the top. The titanium frame onboard iPhone 15 Pro comes with rounded edges to subdue the sharp edges found on previous generations of the iPhone 14 series.

As we check out the bottom, we get a glimpse at iPhone 15 Pro Max’s USB-C port placed at the dead center. It looks mesmerizing given the fact that Apple has been using Lightning Port for ages and this marks a new beginning. The left profile shows capacitive solid-state buttons for both volume rockers and mute buttons.

As you can see, the case will have a cut-out to accommodate the buttons that are likely raised just a tad bit above the side panel. iPhone 15 Pro Max (and Pro) will get conjoined volume rockers and a separate mute solid-state button. On the other hand, it is speculated that iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will get their hands on the solid-state buttons technology too but for volume rockers only and these won’t be conjoined. Additionally, the mute switch will be a traditional slider rather than a solid-state for the non-Pro models.

There are a few possibilities solid-state buttons could work. First, the force at which the buttons are pressed that will dictate the magnitude of volume Up or Down that the user wants to perform. Second, the conjoined solid-state button would allow swiping or sliding movement to turn the volume up or down. Of course, these possibilities are for the iPhone 15 Pro models that will get a conjoined contraption.

As said, functions on the solid-state buttons will be executed with iOS implemented much like 3D Touch. It remains to be seen how Apple decides to proceed with the new buttons onboard the upcoming series.

ShrimpApplePro shared some measurements that are reportedly accurate although take it with a tiny bit of salt. The iPhone 15 Pro Max sports dimensions of 159.86×77.58×8.25mm. The thickness of the camera bump takes it to a whopping 12.02mm adding 3.78mm above the back glass. For context, it is greater than what iPhone 14 Pro Max arrived with last year.

Moving on, the bezels are at the slickest at 1.55mm defeating the current title holder Xiaomi 13. The dynamic island will stay and in fact, we could see it spread across the whole iPhone 15 series although it remains to be seen. ShrimpApplePro further added that Pro Max is for this year whereas the Ultra will be reserved for next year.
