iQOO Z9 5G Smartphone launched in India with Sony IMX882 OIS Camera & Dimensity 7200 SoC

Vivo’s sub-brand iqoo has announced a new mid-ranger in its ‘Z’ Series in India. iQOO Z9 5G has been launched in the country with a new brushed design, sleek form factor, and a dual camera setup at the back. Iqoo has priced its mid-ranger under 20k and claims that it will bring freshness to this segment. iQOO claims it to be the brightest AMOLED display phone in the segment. iQOO Z9 5G: Price & Availability

iQOO Z9 5G will be available in two storage configurations-

  • 8GB RAM+128GB storage- Rs. 19,999
  • 8GB RAM+256GB storage- Rs. 21,999

The company is offering up to Rs. 2000 instant discount for ICICI and HDFC card holders. It comes in Brushed Green and Graphene Blue shades.

It will retail via Amazon and the first sale for Prime Members will take place on March 13 while for all users, the first sale will happen on March 14.

With this price point, the fiercest competitors for iQOO Z9 are Nothing Phone 2a, and Realme 12 Pro smartphones.

iQOO Z9 5G: Specifications

iQOO Z9 5G flaunts a 6,67-inch AMOLED panel with 1800 nits brightness, 120Hz refresh rate, 2400×1800 pixel resolution, 1200Hz touch sampling rate, HDR for Netflix, and DT-Star2 Plus Glass Protection. It is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7200 5G SoC with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB onboard storage.

The smartphone packs a 5000mAh battery under the hood with 44W wired fast charging capability and runs FunTouch OS 14 based on Android 14 out of the box. OS comes with features like a smart slider, mini-window, and split-screen. iQOO has promised two years of Android updates and three years of security patches for the device.

In terms of camera, there is a dual lens setup at the back including the segment’s first 50MP Sony IMX882 sensor. Additionally, there is a 2MP bokeh sensor as well. For videos, there is hybrid stabilization combining Optical Image Stabilization and Electronic Image Stabilization.

At the front is a 16MP selfie shooter while additional features include 5G, 4G, GLONASS, GALILEO, GNSS, QZSS, Bluetooth 5.3 WiFi 6, and more. The smartphone weighs 188 grams and is 7.83mm thick with an IP54 rating for protection.
