India is all set to witness the official rollout of the 5G network very soon. Jio, being the biggest telecom player has completed its planning to launch a 5G network in the top 1000 cities in the country. The company has conducted field trials of its home-grown 5G telecom gears, Reliance claims in its annual report.

In its report, RIL has claimed that Jio took major steps during 2021-22 in getting ready for 5G with its 100% indigenous technology. “Jio’s 5G coverage planning has been completed in top 1000 cities based on targeted customer consumption and revenue potential using heat maps, 3D maps, and ray tracing technology”, the report said.

5G services will be rolled out to 22 cities in the first phase. These cities include Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune, Chandigarh, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, etc. More cities will be added to the list soon.
