JioTag Go: Features

JioTag Go is India’s inaugural item tracking tag that incorporates the innovative Google Find My Device feature. Users can monitor this tag’s location even when they are not in close proximity. The tracking system operates by leveraging the global network of Android devices.

The underlying principle is akin to that of the Apple AirTag, with all compatible Android devices continuously scanning for Android tags. The information is transmitted to Google’s servers in real-time, allowing Google to provide the precise last known location of the tracker when you attempt to locate it.

The JioTag Go is a compact device, roughly the size of a coin, designed to be affixed to wallets, keys, and important documents, enabling you to monitor their location from virtually anywhere. It operates in conjunction with the Find My Device app, which is available for download from the Google Play Store.

The earlier version of JioTag utilized Bluetooth Low Energy, which required proximity to the tag for location tracking. The JioTag Go addresses this limitation by integrating with the Find My Device application. Additionally, the JioTag Go includes privacy features supported by Google and Android, which notify all nearby Android devices if an unfamiliar tracker is detected in the vicinity.

The tag operates without the need for a SIM card and is capable of emitting a sound of up to 120dB, facilitating easier location tracking. It features Bluetooth 5.3 for local scanning capabilities. This compact device can be conveniently attached to keys, wallets, or similar items. Weighing 77 grams, the battery has a lifespan of up to one year. The JioTag Go is powered by a standard CR032 battery, and an additional cell is included with the tag. It is available for purchase in four colors: Black, Yellow, Orange, and White.
