Kia launches EV6 in India: Price starts at Rs. 59.95 lakhs

Kia’s EV6 has officially launched in India with a base price of Rs. 59.95 lakhs (ex-showroom). It is the 1st electric vehicle from Kia and it comes in 2 variants- GT RWD (rear-wheel drive) and the AWD (all-wheel drive).

Kia EV6: Price and Availability

The GT RWD version of the EV6 costs Rs. 59.95 lakhs whereas the AWD model costs Rs. 64.96 lakhs.

Kia started taking bookings for the EV6 on May 26th via its official website and select Kia dealerships. It is a CBU import and earlier Kia has planned to bring only 100 units to India but heavy bookings (355) have made Kia change its plans to bring more units soon. Deliveries will begin in September 2022.

Kia EV6 will be available across 15 dealerships in 12 Indian cities. The car will come in Snow White Pearl, Aurora Black Pearl, Runway Red, Yacht Blue, and Moonscape colors. The interiors will be all black with blue seats.

Kia EV6 Specs

Kia EV6 will deliver 528km of range and pack a 77.4kWh Li-ion battery. The exterior of the car has an array of LED lighting setups with unique design elements. There are 19-inch wheels and a modern iteration of Kia’s Tiger Nose grille. There is a 12.3-inch screen for MID and infotainment, a wide electric sunroof, ventilated front seats, climate control, electronic parking brake, different drive modes, a heads-up display, a 14-speaker sound system, connected car tech, and much more. There are 10+ functions ADAS and 8 airbags.

The Kia EV6 will come in GT Line trim levels in RWD or AWD configurations. The RWD will have a single motor while the AWD will have a dual motor. In RWD, the EV6 will produce 229bhp peak power and 350Nm peak torque. The AWD one will go from 0 to 100kmph in 5.2 seconds. Kia promises a 528km range on a single charge and accepts up to 350kW charging that can refill the battery from 10 to 80% in mere 18 minutes. At Indian fast charging points, where output is 150kW, the EV6 will charge 80% in 42 minutes.
