Lava has launched a new entry-level smartphone in India: the Lava Yuva 4. Besides a large screen and a massive battery, the phone ships with several features that are rare in the segment. For instance, buyers get a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Further, there’s a 90Hz refresh rate screen. The Lava Yuva 4 comes in three colors: Glossy White, Glossy Purple, and Glossy Black. On the front, the phone has a punch-hole screen with relatively thicker bezels on all sides and a broad chin. On the back, the phone has a square-ish camera module with a single camera sensor (and two dummy camera cutouts).

The flat edges and the glossy back finish give the phone an upmarket feel. While the volume rockers and the fingerprint sensor are situated on the right side, the SIM tray is placed on the left frame of the phone.

Out of the box, the Lava Yuva 4 features a 6.56-inch HD+ screen with a punch-hole display. Considering the smartphone’s price, it is great that the screen supports a 90Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, the smartphone runs on the UniSoc T606 chipset, along with 4GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of onboard storage. The phone runs on Android 14, and even though the company doesn’t specify the number of years, it says that the phone will get assured Android upgrade (singular) and security updates (plural).

Regarding optics, the Lava Yuva 4 has a 50MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera, which enable users to click detailed pictures and selfies. Further, users can also record video using either of the cameras. Powering the handset is a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 10W charging. Interestingly, the phone also offers a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, which is pretty rare in the segment.

Connectivity options on the smartphone include 4G VoLTE, WI-Fi 801.11 ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS + GLONASS, USB-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, and FM Radio.

Lava Yuva 4 Price And Availability

The Lava Yuva 4 will be available in retail outlets starting November 2024. The baseline variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage costs Rs. 6,999, while the variant with 128GB of storage costs Rs. 7,499. In addition to the one-year warranty, the company also provides a free service at-home facility.
