Mahindra Thar Roxx BNCAP Ratings Analysis

In its latest crash test by Bharat NCAP, the Mahindra Thar Roxx has scored a 5-star rating. The rating is applicable to both adult and child occupants. In fact, Thar Roxx scored the highest among all the ICE vehicles tested by the organization.

  • Adult occupant protection: 31.09 out of 32 points; only behind Tata Punch EV, which scored 31.46 points.
  • Child occupant protection: 45 out of 49 points; same as Tata Punch EV. The vehicle got a perfect score in the CRS installation and dynamic test.
  • Baseline MX3 and AX5 L variants were tested in crash tests.

The new Thar Roxx comes with plenty of safety features, including six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), three-point seatbelts, and ISOFIX mounts. The vehicle also complies with the AIS-100 pedestrian protection rules. As the crash test report mentioned, the car provides adequate protection to the front passenger’s head, neck, chest, and knees.

However, the crash test report doesn’t include details about the car’s body shell stability and the level of protection provided to the child dummy.
