TL;DR

  • The XEV 7e will be based on the regular ICE version of the company’s XUV700, the full-sized seven-seater SUV.
  • Like other EVs, the vehicle could feature new aerodynamic alloy vehicles for decreased air resistance.
  • The report mentions that the XEV 7e could borrow the triple-screen setup, which includes one instrument cluster, one centrally-located infotainment screen, and an additional screen for the co-driver.

Ahead of its expected debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, details about the Mahindra XEV 7e have surfaced online. For those catching up, the vehicle is going to be an electric reincarnation of the popular XUV700 SUV, which is currently available in petrol and diesel engine options.

XEV 7e To Feature Vertically-Stacked LED Headlamps And Connected DRLs

According to a report by Rushlane, the XEV 7e will be based on the regular ICE version of the company’s XUV700, the full-sized seven-seater SUV. On the front, the vehicle will feature new stacked LED headlamps, connected LED DRLs, and a simplified yet broad grill with aggressive cladding at the bottom. Similarly, the rear profile will also feature new LED taillamps.

Like other EVs, the vehicle could feature new aerodynamic alloy vehicles for decreased air resistance. However, beyond that, the side profile will remain unchanged, especially when compared to the regular XUV700. We might get to see the XEV 7e in new colors, perhaps with a more vibrant color palette, as seen on the Mahindra BE 6.

XEV 7e To Get XEV 9e’s Triple-Screen Dashboard

Mahindra XEV 9e with three screens

Remember the triple-screen setup seen on the XEV 9e? The report mentions that the XEV 7e could borrow the triple-screen setup, which includes one instrument cluster, one centrally-located infotainment screen, and an additional screen for the co-driver. Since it is a relatively new concept, we can’t comment on its practicality. Even so, the triple-screen setup should be an enticing addition for prospective buyers.

The XEV 7e should also feature dual-tone seat upholstery with captain seats for the passengers in the second row. Further, the electric SUV should feature a panoramic sunroof, making the views accessible to everyone. Like other EVs in the market, the SEV 7e’s front seats should also have ventilation and power adjustment features.

XEV 7e Battery Packs And Range (Expected)

Regarding battery pack and range, the full-sized is said to come with two battery packs. The XEV 7e short-range version should feature a 59 kWh battery pack (which might offer a claimed range of around 520 – 520 kilometers), while the long-range version could ship with a 79 kWh battery pack (which might offer a claimed range of up to 650 kilometers).

XEV 7e Price Speculation

Although there are no solid rumors about the Mahindra XEV 7e’s ex-showroom price, we believe that the baseline variant with the smaller battery pack could cost around Rs. 19 to 22 lakhs (ex-showroom), while the top-tier variant could cost even more. However, it is important to remember that this is just a speculation. More details about the vehicle should surface at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.
