Mahindra XUV400 e-SUV launched; 456km range and other details you should know

Mahindra XUV400 EV has been finally launched globally at an event in Chennai, India. The XUV400 is the first Mahindra electric SUV and is claimed to offer a range of 456km with the fastest accelerating ability ever. Mahindra XUV400 EV is completely ‘Made in India’.

The new electric car is extended from the XUV300 ICE counterpart and doesn’t relate to upcoming Mahindra Born Electric SUVs which will be based on the INGLO platform.

Mahindra XUV400 e-SUV: Powertrain & Battery

Starting with the powertrain, the Mahindra XUV400 EV is equipped with a 39.5kWh battery pack developed by the company itself. The e-SUV runs on a permanent magnet synchronous motor that belts out 110kW peak power and 310Nm peak torque. The MIDC-certified range for the electric SUV is 456km per single charge. It accelerates from zero to 100kmph in just 8.3 seconds and its top speed is 160kmph.

The all-electric XUV400 supports DC fast charging to refill the EV from 0-80% in just 50 minutes. The battery pack meets the IP67 water resistance compliance. 

Mahindra XUV400 e-SUV: Exterior

The new Mahindra XUV400 e-SUV sports a closed-off front grille with X-pattern and Mahindra’s ‘Twin Peaks’ logo in the centre. It gets electric-inspired headlamps with DRLs and heavy copper inserts. It sports a copper-painted roof and matte black roof rails.

The new C-segment s-SUV sports 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels with a twin peaks logo. The pair of LED taillamps get a revamped design, again with satin copper inserts.

Mahindra XUV400 e-SUV: Interior

The XUV400 e-SUV features an all-black sport interior with the use of a satin-copper insert and a blue backlighting scheme. It gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and 60+ connectivity features. It also has a digital driver cluster, copper-garnished AC vents, and an electric sunroof. 

Mahindra XUV400 e-SUV: Driving mode

XUV400 offers ‘Lively Mode’ that is built on single pedal drive technology. The feature lets the driver start, accelerate, decelerate, and stop the car using the accelerator pedal only. Safety features are six airbags, all 4 disc brakes,  and a rearview camera. 

Mahindra XUV400 e-SUV: Price and Rivals

Mahindra has not announced the pricing details but is expected to be priced at Rs 14 lakh onwards. Nevertheless, Mahindra XUV400 e-SUV will give Tata Nexon EV and MG ZS EV a run for its money.
