Maruti Suzuki, one of the well-known automobile brands in India, is all set to introduce its Baleno Cross edition which has been codenamed YTB for now. The vehicle has been spotted while being tested on the roads of Rohtak. The research and Development (R&D) facility of Maruti is situated in the same city. The spy shots of the same have been taken by a member of Rushlane Spylane named Karan Nandvani.

Assumptions are that the car appears almost ready for production. In addition, the exterior styling of the vehicle seems heavily inspired by the Futuro-e concept which was showcased at Auto Expo 2020. To recall, Maruti, pretty recently launched the new variant of Baleno, Grand Vitara, and the new Vitara Brezza. It is also in the air that we can soon get to see the brand new Alto K10.

New Maruti SUV Coupe – All that we know

The crossover coupe Bodystyle Baleno prototype makes sure that the interior space is not compromised to a considerable extent. The roof line of the Maruti Baleno SUV Coupe strikingly resembles the Baleno hatchback. The front side of the car includes a chrome-lined trapedozial grille, high-mounted narrow LED DRLs, and low-set headlamps.

These features were first seen in the recently launched edition of Grand Vitara. In addition, the vehicle also has a raked rear windshield, fat bumper, and a boot-lit combined spoiler. Speculations are that the vehicle will also get automatic climate control, leather seats, multiple airbags, and state-of-the-art connectivity.

As for the interiors, the all-new Maruti Baleno Cross could get Suzuki’s localized modular platform. The same platform also serves many variants, even the hatchback version of Baleno. It will most probably work on the 1.0 litre BoosterJet turbo petrol engine which we got to see previously in the Baleno RS (discontinued now). Expectations are that the vehicle will also get a 48v mild-hybrid system coupled with Integrated Starter Generator.

As of its launch date, the new Maruti Baleno SUV Coupe is going to be revealed at the Auto Expo 2023 which will be held around January. The dealers will be getting the model for sale within a couple of months of its reveal. We expect to get more information regarding the upcoming vehicle by Maruti as soon as the launch approaches.
