The Maruti Brezza and the Toyota Taisor are long-distance siblings because the Toyota Taisor is the rebadged version of the Maruti Fronx. The mild-hybrid technology is the common feature in both cars, but the hybrid tech’s development is different in both cars.
The Brezza and the Taisor seem very similar on the spec sheet, but we will highlight the real-world performance of these cars and give you an overview of how different these cars are in terms of real-world performance. But first, let’s go through the specifications of these cars.
Specification Comparison
Let’s discuss the technical specifications of both cars. First, let’s start with the Brezza and its larger displacement 1.5L four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine. This engine features mild-hybrid technology and can produce 103 PS of power and 137 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 5-speed MT or a 6-speed AT transmission.
Toyota Taisor, on the other hand, has a 33 % smaller displacement 1.0L engine, which is also featured with a mild-hybrid tech. But here comes the hero part: Unlike Brezza’s NA engine, this gets forced induction in the form of a turbo, which helps it churn out 100 PS of power and a slightly better 148 Nm of torque mated to the same 5-Speed MT or a 6-Speed AT. Now, let’s go through the performance test figures.

Real-World Performance Test Comparison
Here comes the most exciting part: we will talk about the real-world performance figures of these cars. Let’s start with the Maruti Brezza AT first, as we all know that this car gets a bigger 1.5L engine. Still, a naturally aspirated one, and on the other hand, the Toyota Taisor consists of some enthusiastic stuff like the turbo, which makes its 1.0L engine perform like crazy.
Let’s go through the data we have here; surprisingly, the Maruti Brezza is slower in every metric we have here despite having a bigger engine by the Toyota Taisor. In the 0-100Kmph run, Taisor did 10.98 Seconds, which is 4.27 seconds faster than Brezza, who clocked 15.24 seconds. Taisor is also quicker than Brezza in the Quarter Mile with the timings and trap speeds of 17.67 Seconds @127.17 Kmph and 19.75 seconds @114.36 kmph, respectively.
The case is the same with the Kickdown (20-80 kmph) test, with Taisor clocking 6.64 seconds and Brezza clocking 8.58 seconds, and in the 100-0 Kmph braking test, the figures aren’t that different with Brezza stopping at 43.87 meters. Taisor stopped at 42.81 meters, but a win is a win; in this case, Taisor won by a slight margin.

Pricing and Rivalry
The Maruti Brezza AT and the Toyota Taisor AT are on the same shelf at similar prices. The prices of the Brezza range between Rs. 8.34 Lakh and Rs. 14.14 Lakh, and for the Taisor, they range between Rs. 7.73 Lakhs and Rs. 13.03 Lakhs. Despite being each other’s rivals, these cars also rival the Mahindra XUV300, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite, Kia Sonet, and Renault Kiger.
