Now, R.C. Bhargava, the chairman of Maruti Suzuki in India, has confirmed that the e-Vitara is further delayed by a few months. According to the executive, e-Vitara’s deliveries will only commence by the end of September 2025, about five months from now.
The chairman also confirmed that the company plans to export most of this year’s local production, around 70,000 units, with only a small number reserved for sales in India.
A Majority of e-Vitara Units Are Earmarked for Export
A few months ago, the company said that about 50% of the units manufactured at the Gujarat plant would be reserved for exports, but it now appears that the portion has been revised.
The news comes as a disappointment for prospective buyers, especially those who’ve already booked the vehicle by submitting a token of Rs. 25,000. Since the e-Vitara is delayed, Toyota’s Urban Cruiser EV is expected to arrive at a later date.
