Maruti Suzuki & Toyota to launch CNG SUVs in December: Here’s what we know about the two

Maruti's Grand Vitara CNG and Toyota's Urban Cruiser Hyryder CNG will be priced between 10 to 19 lakhs.

Maruti Suzuki India and Toyota Kirloskar Motors are all set to launch their new CNG SUVs in the country in December 2022. Maruti Suzuki’s Grand Vitara CNG and Toyota’s Urban Cruiser Hyryder CNG will break cover this month, out of which pre-bookings have already begun for the Urban Cruiser Hyryder CNG.

Grand Vitara CNG & Urban Cruiser Hyryder CNG: Price

  • The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara CNG is priced between Rs. 10.45 lakh and Rs. 19.65 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi).
  • The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder CNG is priced between Rs. 10.48 lakh and Rs. 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara CNG: Features

It is likely to have 1.5-litre K15C, four-cylinder engine which gives 103 horsepower and 136Nm in petrol mode and 88 horsepower and 12Nm in CNG mode. It will have a 5-speed manual gearbox and deliver 26.10km/kg of claimed fuel economy.

Maruti will sell Grand Vitara CNG via its Nexa retail channel. Currently, Baleno and XL6 are two Nexa models with a CNG option, Grand Vitara will be the 3rd.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder CNG: Features

The SUV will come in 2 trims- S and G and will be powered by Maruti sourced 1.5-litre K15C four-cylinder engine. It will produce 103hp and 136Nm in petrol mode and 88hp and 121.5Nm in CNG mode. It will have a 5-speed manual gearbox and a fuel efficiency of 26.10km/kg. Toyota will offer Urban Cruiser Hyryder CNG in 2 mid-spec variants- S and G.
