After months of rumors and anticipation, Maruti Suzuki has launched its much-awaited Victoris SUV in India. Placed between the Brezza and Grand Vitara, the SUV provides the reliability of Maruti’s naturally-aspirated 1.5-liter petrol engine in a more contemporary exterior (in an attempt to appeal to the young, first-time buyers).
Apart from the domestic demand, Maruti Suzuki also plans to export the SUV to more than 100 countries from India. Check out more details of the vehicle, including its variants, expected price, powertrain options, design, and safety features.

Maruti Victoris Variants & Price (Expected)
While the Victoris will be available in six broad variants, these may also have sub-variants, depending on the availability of the hybrid setup and transmission options. Given that the Victoris is placed between the Brezza (Rs. 8.68 lakh onward) and the Grand Vitara (Rs. 11.42 lakh onward), its pricing should follow suit.
At present, Maruti Suzuki hasn’t revealed the official pricing of the new compact SUV, but we’ve estimated the price for our readers.
- LXI: Rs. 10 lakh (ex-showroom, expected)
- VXI: Rs. 12 lakh (ex-showroom, expected)
- ZXI: Rs. 14.5 lakh (ex-showroom, expected)
- ZXI (O): Rs. 15.25 lakh (ex-showroom, expected)
- ZXI+: Rs. 16.5 lakh (ex-showroom, expected)
- ZXI+ (O): Rs. 17.50 lakh (ex-showroom, expected)
It is only at this price that the Maruti Suzuki Victoris can undercut its competitors, such as the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos, and gather a significant share of the market. If the starting price of the vehicle exceeds Rs. 10-11 lakhs, the car may struggle to leave the showroom.

Maruti Victoris Powertrain Options

First and foremost, the Victoris will be available with Maruti’s 1.5-liter NA petrol engine with a mild-hybrid system (103 PS, 137 Nm), paired with a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. There is also an all-wheel-drive version available with the automatic variant (and the same engine).
Then there’s the 1.5-liter NA petrol engine paired with a strong hybrid system (likely the same setup on the Grand Vitara that produces 116 PS and 141 Nm), mated with an e-CVT transmission (only in a front-wheel-drive configuration).
Last but not least, the Maruti Victoris is also available with a 1.5-liter NA petrol + CNG option (which produces 88PS and 121.5 Nm) with a five-speed manual transmission.
Maruti Victoris Interior & Exterior Design

The Maruti Victoris is targeted toward young buyers, which also reflects in its exterior design. It borrows several design elements from the new-age Maruti cars. For instance, the horizontal grille with chrome accents may remind you of the new Dzire, while the LED headlamps resemble those seen on the e-Vitara. This one also has connected LED DRLs, which give the vehicle a contemporary look.
The boxy and broad bonnet, along with the layered design of the front bumper featuring a blacked-out grille and a skid plate below, gives the vehicle a bold and aggressive road presence. The side profile of the car is dominated by the 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, with squared-off wheel arches, a slightly sloping roofline, cosmetic roof rails, and blacked-out A, B, and C pillars.
While all the other design elements on the Maruti Victoris appear to be in place, the pixelated LED taillamp doesn’t, at least to me (it looks like the LEDs have stopped functioning in between). Otherwise, the rear profile of the vehicle is quite neat and clean, featuring a few arches, the vehicle’s name, and hybrid badging, along with a silver skid plate at the bottom.

On the inside, the Victorius gets a three-spoke steering wheel with rectangular-shaped steering-mounted controls, a large 10.1-inch infotainment screen, and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s screen (likely on the top models). The interiors feature a black and off-white dual-tone theme, complemented by leatherette seats and a generous use of soft-touch materials.
Additional interior features include automatic climate control, head-up display (HUD), 64-color ambient lighting, an eight-speaker Infinity audio system that supports Dolby Atmos (should be available only on the top trims), a powered (and gesture-controlled) tailgate, and a panoramic sunroof. Moreover, the vehicle’s interiors are largely in line with those of the popular options in the segment.
Maruti Victoris Safety Features

Right off the bat, Maruti Suzuki is marketing the Victoris with its extensive lineup of safety-related features, which includes a five-star BNCAP crash test rating to begin with. Other features include six airbags as standard, ABS with EBD, ESC, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
The Victoris is also Maruti’s first car to offer Level 2 ADAS features, which include adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and emergency braking, among others. It also features a 360-degree camera system, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and parking sensors on both the front and rear.

Maruti Victoris Booking & Delivery Timeline
Although Maruti Suzuki hasn’t revealed the price of the upcoming SUV, it has opened bookings for the same, with a deposit of Rs. 11,000 available across Arena dealerships. While there’s no word on the official launch date, the vehicle could debut right in time for the festive season of Diwali 2025, when Indians buy more cars than the rest of the year.
As mentioned earlier in the article, the Maruti Victoris takes on vehicles like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and, to a great extent, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. Maruti might discontinue the Grand Vitara’s entry-level variants due to an overlap with the Victoris, but this remains just speculation at the moment.
