Maruti to launch Grand Vitara SUV in India on 26th September: Read on to know more

Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch its next SUV Grand Vitara in India. The launch has been set for the 26th of September and the company has already commenced pre-bookings months in advance. Maruti Suzuki has received over 53,000 bookings since pre-reservations began.

The upcoming SUV is expected to be launched in India starting at Rs. 9.50 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara: Specs & Features

The Grand Vitara will come in 2 powertrain options- a 1.5-liter petrol engine with a mild hybrid system producing 102bhp and 137Nm of torque and a 1.5-liter petrol engine with strong hybrid functionality that gives a combined output of 114bhp and 122Nm of torque. These are called Smart Hybrid and Electric Hybrid.

The Smart Hybrid uses a 1462 cc engine that puts out 103PS power at 6000RPM and 136Nm torque at 4400rpm. It will come in 5-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed Automatic Transmission.

The Electric Hybrid uses a 1490 cc engine that puts out 92.4PS power at 5500RPM and 122Nm torque at 4800rpm. The Grand Vitara will become the car with the highest mileage in India with the Electric Hybrid aiming to achieve 27/97kmpl.

The SUV will come in 6 variants- Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alpha, Zeta+, and Alpha+. The top variant Alpha+ will have LED projector headlights, 3-point daytime running lights, a hexagonal-shaped grille, 17-inch two-tone alloy wheels, and more.

The car will come with a panoramic sunroof along with tri-element headlamps, LED taillamps, and a sloping roof line. The 17-inch alloy squared off the wheel arches will also add to the looks of the SUV.
