TL; DR
- The MediaTek Dimensity 9500 has been officially launched.
- It delivers major CPU, AI, and GPU upgrades over its predecessor.
- The first devices with this chip, vivo X300 Pro and OPPO Find X9 Pro, will launch in China in October 2025, with global availability expected in Q4 2025.
The MediaTek Dimensity 9500 has been officially launched, and it is set to power the next generation of flagship smartphones from vivo and OPPO. Built on a 3nm process, this SoC adopts an “all big core” architecture, dropping efficiency cores entirely in favor of raw performance, just like last year. Let’s take a look at the specs and upcoming smartphones.
MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Specifications
At its heart, it features a third-generation CPU setup with one ultra core clocked at 4.21 GHz, three premium cores at 3.5 GHz, and four performance cores based on Arm’s latest Cortex-X930 and Cortex-A730 designs.

Compared to its predecessor, the Dimensity 9500 delivers 32% faster single-core performance while reducing single-core peak power by 55% and multi-core peak power by 37%.
The chipset supports up to 16MB of L3 cache, 10MB of system-level cache, LPDDR5X RAM at speeds up to 10,667Mbps, and four-lane UFS storage, enabling seamless multitasking and high-speed data handling.
AI Capabilities
AI capabilities have received a major boost with the introduction of the Super Efficient NPU 990, integrated with MediaTek’s second-generation Gen-AI Engine. This NPU reduces peak power consumption for AI tasks by 56%, doubles token generation speed, and enables 4K high-quality image generation. It is the first CIM-based NPU designed for always-on AI applications, allowing on-device generative AI features without significant battery drain.

GPU
Gaming performance also gets a significant upgrade. The Arm Mali-G1 Ultra GPU offers 33% higher peak performance and 42% improved power efficiency under peak load. Dual ray tracing units provide up to 119% faster ray-traced gameplay.
Also, the Vulkan ray tracing pipeline supports Unreal Engine 5.5 features like MegaLight and Nanite. This combination brings near-console graphics to mobile devices, supporting 120FPS immersive gameplay with ray tracing.

Camera, Video, and Connectivity

The Dimensity 9500 introduces the MediaTek Imagiq 1090 ISP, supporting advanced photography and videography. Features include dedicated tracking for portraits and zooms, 30fps full-speed object focus in snapshots, and 4K60 Cinematic Mode video recording.
It also brings Android’s first 4K120 Dolby Vision video capture with EIS. AI-enabled 200MP photography is also supported. MiraVision SmartScreen technology enhances color and contrast even in challenging lighting conditions.
Connectivity is equally impressive. The new 5G modem supports up to 7.4Gbps on sub-6GHz networks, while MediaTek UltraSave 3.0+ improves power efficiency by 10%. Smart Multi-Link Call reduces dropped calls, AI traffic prediction boosts Wi-Fi efficiency by 20%, and Bluetooth audio range improves by 35%.
Early Benchmarks of Dimensity 9500

Early benchmarks are truly eye-catching. Prototype devices of the vivo X300 Pro and OPPO Find X9 Pro reportedly achieve over 4 million points on AnTuTu V11, compared to around 2.7 million for the previous Dimensity 9400 on AnTuTu V10.
