MediaTek to launch Dimensity 9300+ SoC on May 7: Details Inside

Leading chipmaker MediaTek has confirmed that it will launch the next in the 9300 series on May 7. MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ SoC will be announced next week which is the successor to the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 that was announced earlier. Alongside the chipset, the chipset manufacturing giant will also reveal its AI Strategy and Vision for the coming year. While MediaTek hasn’t unveiled anything about the upcoming chipset, various reports have tipped what the SoC might entail.

MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ Chipset: Features

The announcement of the launch was made via a Weibo post where MediaTek listed its MediaTek Dimensity Developers Conference 2024 and confirmed that Dimensity 9300+ will be launched during the event. The chipmaker also teased some surprises on the way and the hashtag used is, “AIeverything” which indicates that the event will focus on AI plans.

A tipster had earlier claimed that the Dimensity 9300+ chipset will come with a better Cortex X4 core with a clock speed of 3.4GHz as opposed to 3.25GHz on the predecessor. There will reportedly be three performance cores clocked at 2.85GHz and 4 X Cortex A720 efficiency cores clocked at 2.0GHz. The SoC is expected to come with an AI processing unit which will be a tweaked version of NPU. It is said to power on-device processing for AI features on Android smartphones.

A Geekbench leak also tipped the single-core score to be 2229 and multi-core scores to be 7526.

Vivo X100s is expected to be one of the first smartphones to be powered by Dimensity 9300+ chipset. This smartphone is rumored to launch soon alongside the Vivo X100 Ultra and Vivo X100s Pro and comes with a Zeiss-branded ring-shaped camera island and a flat frame. The back panel is tipped to have a textured finish.

Other specs of Vivo X100s are expected to be a 6.78-inch 1.5K 8T LTPO OLED screen, 120W wired fast charging, and more.

Last year, smartphones like Vivo S18 Pro, Vivo X90s, and Redmi K60 Ultra were powered by Dimensity 9200+ chipset, so these brands are also expected to roll out devices with Dimensity 9300+ soon.
