After releasing the powerful Edge 50 Pro in India, Motorola India is gearing up to unveil another mid-range phone. After teasing a new launch next week, the company has confirmed that it will be the Moto G64 5G, a Dimensity-powered smartphone with a 120Hz display and dual-rear camera setup and arrive in three different colors.

Moto G64 5G launch date and features revealed

The Lenovo-owned smartphone brand has confirmed that the Moto G64 6G will arrive in India on April 16, 2024. Further, the smartphone will be available exclusively via Flipkart. A microsite dedicated to the handset is already live on the e-commerce platform, revealing all the key specifications and features.

The mid-range Moto G64 5G will feature a 6.5-inch FHD+ 120Hz display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. However, the microsite that reveals the specifications doesn’t include any information about the display’s type (AMOLED or LCD). This will be the first smartphone to feature the Dimensity 7025 chip, a slightly overclocked version of the Dimensity 7020. The chipset will be paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Users can also convert up to 12GB of the phone’s storage to virtual RAM.

The processor supports 14 5G bands and should provide decent connectivity in India. Other connectivity options should include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and a USB-C port. Regarding optics, the smartphone will come with a 50MP primary camera with optical image stabilization and an 8MP ultra-wide camera that doubles as a macro shooter. On the front, users will get a 16MP selfie shooter.

Powering the smartphone is a 6,000 mAh battery that supports 33W wired charging. Speculating the battery life, the phone should easily last over a day for moderate usage. Other features of the handset include dual speakers with support for Dolby Atmos, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, an IP52 water and dust-resistance rating, and a Moto Secure platform. Out of the box, the Moto G64 5G should run on Android 14. Further, it will be upgradable to Android 15 with another two years of security updates.

Moto G64 5G Expected Price

Since the G64 5G takes after the G54 5G, it should follow a similar pricing strategy. Building on that, we believe that the G64 5G’s base variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage could cost around Rs. 16,000, whereas the top model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage could cost around Rs. 19,000. However, this remains a conjecture as there is no solid rumor or tip to go by.
