Motorola’s Moto G8 has been unveiled in Brazil and it now joins the existing Moto G8 series phones that include Moto G8 Play, Moto G8 Plus, and Moto G8 Power.

The Moto G8 smartphone design seems similar to other Motorola phones that we have seen in recent times. In comparison to the Moto G7, the newly launched one has noticeable upgrades in internals as well as optics.

Moto G8 specifications

The Moto G8 features a 6.4-inch display with Max Vision HD+ resolution (720×1,560 pixels) and a 19:9 aspect ratio. The screen has a hole-punch design featuring a cutout in the top left corner with a single selfie camera.

The Moto G8 is driven by 2.0GHz octa-core Snapdragon 665 chipset which we have seen in the likes of Realme 5S (review), Xiaomi Mi A3 (review), and also Moto G8 Plus (review). The chipset is paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB of onboard storage and a microSD card slot for expansion.

Optics-wise, the Moto G8 has a triple camera setup at the rear with a laser autofocus system. The trio is led by a 16-megapixel main sensor (f/1.7 aperture). The primary camera can shoot 4K footage at 30fps and 1080p videos at 60fps.

Remaining two camera sensors include an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. Both these cameras have f/2.2 aperture lens. As for Selfies, there’s an 8-megapixel front camera with features like portrait mode and cinematography mode.

Moto G8 depends on a 4,000mAh battery and bundles a 10W charger. The company claims that the phone has a water-repellent design, however, it doesn’t carry any IP rating.

Moto G8 Price & Availability

The Moto G8 is currently available in Brazil only where it retails for BLR 1,299 (roughly Rs. 21,000). Motorola is offering it in Pearl White and Neon Blue colours. According to the official blog post, it will also be available in Asia, Australia, Europe, and Latin America in the near future. Motorola is expected to reveal its India launch plans in the coming weeks.
