Motorola has launched a new smartphone in India – the Moto G85 5G. It is one of the better options under Rs. 20,000, especially for those looking for a feature-packed handset. Whether it is the Snapdragon processor, a 120Hz pOLED screen, or the dual-camera system on the rear, the smartphone ticks a lot of boxes. The G85 5G will be available in three finishes: urban gray, Cobalt Blue, and Olive Green.

The front has a punch-hole display (with minimal bezels), while the rear panel houses two camera sensors in a module that’s slightly elevated from the rest of the surface. The power/volume buttons are located on the right frame, while the speaker grill, USB-C port, primary microphone, and SIM tray are on the bottom frame.

The Moto G85 5G sports a 6.67-inch FHD+ pOLED screen that supports a refresh rate of 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of 240Hz. Interestingly, the panel is curved from the sides, which gives the phone a premium touch. Further, it can achieve a peak brightness of 1,600 nits and features Corning Gorilla Glass 5 to withstand daily wear and tear.

Complementing the screen is a dual-stereo speaker setup that supports Dolby Atmos audio.

Under the hood, the G85 5G features the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 SoC, a processor that Qualcomm confirmed is based on the three-year-old Snapdragon 695 5G. Nonetheless, the company promises better performance from the new chipset. Alongside the chipset, users get up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

Regarding optics, the handset sports a 50MP (f/1.8, OIS) Sony Lytia 600 primary sensor, along with an 8MP (f/2.2, 112-degree) ultrawide sensor (with LED flash). On the front, users get a 32MP (f/2.4) selfie shooter. While the rear cameras can record videos in 1080p at 60fps, the front camera is capped at 30fps.

Powering the handset is a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 33W wired charging and is rated to last for up to 34 hours of playtime. Connectivity options on the smartphone include Bluetooth v5.1, Wi-Fi, GPS, GLONASS, NFC, and a USB-C port. Additional features include an IP52 dust and water resistance rating, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and optical face unlock.

Out of the box, the smartphone runs on Android 14. Further, the company has promised to provide two years of major Android operating system upgrades and four years of security updates. In other words, the Moto G85 5G should get the Android 16 update in 2026.

Moto G85 5G Price And Availability

The Moto G85 5 G’s baseline model, with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, costs Rs. 17,999. The top model, with 12GB of RAM and 256GB, costs Rs. 19,999.

The smartphone will be available to purchase on Flipkart from July 16, 2024. Those who’re interested in getting a feature-packed smartphone under Rs. 20,000 can definitely consider the Moto G85 5G.
