Moto G9 brings the Snapdragon 662 SoC to India: Price & Specs

Motorola Moto G9 has been officially presented in India. It is the world’s first phone to come with Snapdragon 662 SoC. Announced at the start of the year, the Snapdragon 662 chipset is a successor to the Snapdragon 665 which we saw in phones like Realme 5S (review), Vivo U10 (review), Moto G8 Plus (review) and Mi A3 last year. While SD 662 has the same underline cores and GPU, it gets a CAT4 & CAT13 modem, improved Spectra 340T ISPs, and dual-frequency GNSS for NavIC.

During the online launch, the company put a lot of stress on the Moto G9’s made in India and made for India credentials.

Moto G9 features: All you need to know

With the Moto G9, Motorola is trying a slightly distinct aesthetics. The new phone comes with a glass front and a plastic back featuring a squarish camera module and a moto dimple.

The Moto G9 comes with a 5.6-inch FHD+ IPS Screen with a waterdrop notch. The display has a 20:9 aspect ratio, 85 percent screen to body ratio, and Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

The Moto G9’s Snapdragon 662 chipset is paired with 4gigs of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of storage. It comes with a storage expansion option up to 512GB.

As always, the new Moto G series phone runs an almost stock version fo Android 10 with added Moto gestures. Motorola has added a UX app for customization and promises a bloatware-free experience. There’s a dedicated Google Assitant key and NFC for payments. Moto claims that the phone has a water repellant design.

Shutterbugs will find a triple camera setup at the back of the phone featuring a 48MP f/1.7 quad pixel Samsung GM1 sensor in the lead and a couple of 2MP sensors for macro and depth sessing.

The handset has a 5,000mAh battery with 20W Turbo fast charging support. Moto ships the 20W charger within the box.

Moto G9 India Price and Availability

The Moto G9 starts at Rs. 11,499 in India. It’s a Flipkart Unique product and will go on sale from August 31 at noon.

In India, it will be competing against likes of Realme Narzo 10 (review) and Redmi Note 9 (review).
