New Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K with HDR, and Dolby Atmos Support Launched In India

This year Navratri and Diwali season seems to have begun early at Amazon. After unveiling Alexa-powered new Echo devices last month, Amazon has launched the new Fire TV Stick 4K in India. The new Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K becomes one of the most affordable native 4K players in India and also comes bundled with a new Alexa Integrated Voice Remote as well.

Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Features: What’s new?

As the name suggests, the new Amazon Fire TV Stick supports 4K@60fps resolution which is what many Prime Video users have been asking for. The new streaming dongle also supports Dolby Vision HDR, HDR10+ and Dolby Atmos surround sound.

The new Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K is based on MediaTek’s MT8695 chipset which is clocked at 1.7GHz and is accompanied by PowerVR GE8300 GPU and a new media decoding engine. It further packs 1.5GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. As per Amazon, the new generation Fire TV is 80 percent more powerful than its predecessor.

The Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K is also based on HDMI 2.0b output and continues to use a micro-USB 2.0 port for power. The TV dongle supports Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 5.0.

Amazon will continue to sell the existing Fire TV Stick which will also get Alexa integration upgrade via OTA update.

The new bundled Alexa Voice Remote control uses Bluetooth and multidirectional infrared technology and can be used to control Fire TV Stick as well as your TV, soundbars, set-top boxes, and other AV equipment. The Alexa Voice Remote layout includes dedicated power, volume, and mute buttons. It is backward compatible and works with the 2nd and 3rd generation Fire TV Stick.

Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Price in India and Availability

Amazon’s Fire TV Stick 4K India price tag is Rs 5,999 and its shipping will start from November 14 onwards. However, the pre-orders are live on Amazon India site. Apart from India, the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K will also retail in the US, Canada, Germany, and the U.K.

Standalone Alexa based Voice Remote control price in India is set at Rs 1,999.
