Truecaller has released an update to its existing Android app bringing a host of new features. The new latest version 12 upgrade will show caller ID of video calls with a customized short video, call recording feature, and dedicated tabs for call and SMS. The Truecaller update also includes additional features for its premium subscribers.

Truecaller in its press release, promises to make its platform even more useful against spammers and scammers. So let’s have a look at the features of the latest updates.

New Truecaller Features

The introduction of video caller ID is the highlighting update in the new Truecaller app. It allows users to set a short selfie video or choose built-in templates as their own caller ID. It will be shown to the contacts when they are called provided they too use the Truecaller app in their Android phone.

Truecaller has also brought a call recording feature that can be accessed on the caller ID interface and will work just on a tap. The feature will record and store the recording on local device storage to be accessed at any time. The feature will quietly do the job without letting the caller know if their call is being recorded.

Previously, the Truecaller app had a home button that collectively shows the calls and message history but the new update comes with a change of interface and utility. It has now separated the call and message records into two dedicated tabs.

Moving forward, the latest version of the Truecaller app arrives with more interesting features for its paid subscribers. One such feature is termed ‘Announce Your Calls’ that lets users know the caller name without actually picking the phone.
