The Italian luxury sports car manufacturer Lamborghini has launched its first plug-in hybrid Super SUV in India: Urus SE. With a new design, optimized aerodynamics, an 800 CV hybrid powertrain with a 4.0-liter V8 engine, and top-notch technology, the vehicle provides the best of performance and efficiency. Even though the Urus SE ships with the highest torque and power values, the company has achieved an 80% reduction in emissions. Without any further ado, let’s go through everything the Super SUV offers and what it would cost for Indian enthusiasts.

Lamborghini Urus SE: Exterior And Interior

In terms of design, the Urus SE shares its appearance with the rest of the lineup. However, it still gets a redesigned hood, sleeker headlights with matrix LED technology, and bumper rills that improve its aerodynamics. On the rear reside the new spoiler and Y-shaped connected tail lamps. Further, there’s a new diffuser, which, together with the spoiler, increases rear downforce by 35% at high speeds when compared to the Urus S.

It’s easy to recognize the Urus SE from the sides, thanks to the new 23-inch Galanthus alloy wheels with Pirelli P Zero tires (optional). Of course, Lamborghini is known to produce some of the best coupe SUVs, and the Urus SE is one of them. While the sloping roofline gives the car a premium look, the sharp cuts and accents on the body add some muscularity. Speaking of the exterior, the Urus SE is available in over 100 colors, including Arancio Egon (with Arancio Apodis interiors) and Bianco Sapphirus (with Terra Kedros interiors) as the two exclusive colors.

On the inside, the Urus SE features a redesigned dashboard and offers over 47 finishes. There’s a 12.3-inch central infotainment screen (with the latest interface), a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, and a dedicated telemetry system to improve the driving experience. Other changes include repositioned AC vents, anodized aluminum accents, and newer seats for better comfort. Rear passengers also get ventilated seats with massage function, neck/shoulder heating, two 11.6-inch displays, and the MBUX tablet. The MBUX Interior Assist is also capable of recognizing passenger gestures.

Lamborghini Urus SE: Powertrain Details

New Lamborghini Urus SE With Plug-In Hybrid Powertrain

Now, let’s discuss the new Lamborghini’s powertrain. Under the hood, the Urus SE hides a powerful 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produces 620 horsepower and 800Nm of torque, which is quite impressive. However, the unique aspect of the Super SUV is its plug-in hybrid system, which packs in a 25.9 kWh lithium-ion battery and an electric motor (inside the 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox). Together, the engine and the motor produce a peak power of 800 horsepower and 950Nm of torque.

With these exceptional numbers, the Lamborghini Urus SE can reach 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 312 km/h. In the electric-only mode, the SUV can cruise for 60 kilometers at a top speed of 130 km/h, beyond which the V8 engine kicks in. In both modes, the vehicle offers four-wheel drive control, making it easier to maneuver in tricky terrains. Like other hybrid powertrains, Urus SE offers six different driving modes: Strada, Sport, Corsa, Neve, Sabbia, and Terra. With four new Electric Performance Strategies (EPS) — including EV Drive, Hybrid, Recharge, and Performance — owners get 11 options for different on-road and off-road conditions.

Lamborghini Urus SE: Ex-Showroom Price

Joining the Urus S and Urus Performante in India, the Urus SE is priced at Rs. 4.54 crore (ex-showroom).
