TL; DR
- Mercedes-Benz has globally unveiled the updated GLE with new styling and digital upgrades.
- The cabin features a new MBUX Superscreen with three displays under one glass panel.
- Powertrains range from a mild-hybrid 255bhp base to an AMG 577bhp hybrid topper.
Mercedes-Benz doesn’t do half measures, and the new GLE is proof. Unveiled globally, the refreshed luxury SUV features a sharper face, a cabin that looks like it belongs in a spaceship, and two powertrain options (for efficiency or outright performance).

What’s New On The Outside And Inside?

On the front, the new GLE gets a revised grille with the brand’s signature three-pointed star pattern, flanked by new LED headlamps featuring star-shaped signature lighting.
The rear receives matching tail lamp updates, which rounds up the whole look nicely. Inside, the biggest talking point is the new MBUX Superscreen, a sweeping triple-display setup rucked under a glass panel that stretches across the dashboard.
The infotainment system supports over-the-air updates, enhanced connectivity, and provides enough screen area for navigation, multimedia playback, and viewing the car’s information.

Which Powertrain Should You Get?

The entry point to the lineup is the GLE 350 4Matic, running a 2.0-liter mild-hybrid four-cylinder producing 255 bhp of peak power and 400 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0-96 kmph in 6.8 seconds.
The GLE 500e plug-in hybrid gets you a 3.0-liter in-line six engine paired with an electric motor, which, together, produce an output of 429 bhp, which helps the car sprint up to 100 kmph in five seconds.
At the top of the pile sits the AMG GLE 53 Hybrid, putting out 577 bhp and 750 Nm of peak torque, enough to cover 0-96 kmph in just 4.4 seconds, making it the fastest of the lot.
