TL; DR
- Multiple reports say Apple will announce the iPhone 17e through a press release on February 19, 2026, exactly one year after the iPhone 16e launch.
- Leaks say Apple will keep the same overall design, including the notch (no Dynamic Island) and a single 48 MP rear camera.
- The iPhone 17e will reportedly add three key upgrades: the A19 chip, Apple’s second-gen C1X modem, and a new N1 wireless chip.
- Some reports also mention MagSafe with up to 25W wireless charging.
Apple may launch the iPhone 17e much earlier than expected. A new report says Apple will announce the phone through a press release on February 19, 2026. That date matches the iPhone 16e launch from last year.
Macwelt reportedly pointed to industry sources, likely tied to case and accessory makers, who expect Apple to skip an event and go with a simple press release announcement. This matches how Apple usually launches its more affordable iPhones. We could still see a YouTube video on the channel like we did last year for the 16e.

Mac Otakara also shared details on the iPhone 17e’s hardware. The report says Apple will keep the same general design as the iPhone 16e. It will reportedly use a 6.1-inch OLED display with a notch, which shuts down earlier talk about Apple adding the Dynamic Island. Apple will also stick to a single rear camera, which will reportedly remain a 48 MP sensor.
The main changes reportedly happen inside the phone.

First, Apple will reportedly upgrade the iPhone 17e to the A19 chip, replacing the A18 used in the iPhone 16e. Second, Apple will reportedly use a second-gen in-house modem called the C1X. Reports claim it will deliver up to twice the 5G and LTE speeds compared to the first-gen C1 used in the iPhone 16e.

Third, Apple will reportedly include a new N1 wireless chip, which should improve Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Thread performance. Macwelt also reportedly claims Apple will add MagSafe support and allow up to 25W wireless charging, a huge upgrade from the 7.5W Qi charging and no MagSafe support on the 16e.

The same Mac Otakara report also mentioned Apple’s next iPad 12. It says Apple will keep the A18 chip, but increase RAM to 8 GB (hopefully adding support for Apple Intelligence). This report does not lock in a launch date, but it suggests Apple could announce it around the same window, potentially on February 19, 2026.
