Apple recently revealed that it would be rolling out a series of product announcements over the next few days, beginning with the M4 iMac. The next reveal is expected to be the Mac Mini, with the M4 lineup of MacBook Pros likely to follow. Following the iMac announcement yesterday, Apple inadvertently leaked key details about the M4 Mac Mini on its website while comparing it to the new iMac.

The M4 Mac mini will be available in two options: the M4 and new M4 Pro. The M4 Pro model will pack up to 14 CPU cores and 20 GPU cores, making it the most powerful Mac mini in Apple’s desktop lineup. The M4 version will have up to 10 CPU cores and 10 GPU cores.

In terms of memory, the Mac mini would be configurable with up to 64 GB of unified memory, alongside a whopping 8 TB storage option for the first time. Earlier, you could only configure the Mac mini with up to 32 GB of RAM. This probably indicates that we’re getting 16 GB of RAM as a base for the Mac mini as well, just like the M4 iMac.

Figma render by Concept Central

One of the most exciting aspects of this Mac mini is the redesign: it will come in a much smaller body, similar to the size of an Apple TV. In the comparison chart on Apple’s website, we can see that the Mac mini has 2x USB-C ports on the front, which means that the redesign is indeed happening.

Comparing it to the Mac Studio, which likely won’t see an upgrade this year, the new Mini is noticeably more compact, retaining only one color option—Apple’s classic silver.

The Mac mini is expected to start around ₹60,000 ($600 in the US), possibly even $100 less than previous models, although pricing remains speculative. Apple could unveil this new Mac mini after or before the MacBook Pro M4 as early as today or tomorrow, so keep an eye out for the official announcement.
