HMD Global will launch a new Nokia smartphone in Beijing, China on October 16. The teaser image claims that the next in line will be a selfie phone and have dual rear cameras (with Zeiss optics) that shall deliver capable low light camera performance.

Save for some neon signboards hinting at camera features, the teaser doesn’t reveal much about this upcoming Nokia phone that could be the Nokia X7 or Nokia 7.1 Plus. That’s because the rear camera module matches the image revealed in a recent Tenna listing of Nokia 7.1 Plus.

The listing also suggests that the Nokia 7.1 Plus could include  6.18-inch full-HD+ (1080×2246 pixels) TFT display and come in 4GB and 6GB RAM options. The listing also bolsters the selfie claim. According to Tenna, the upcoming Nokia phone will allegedly have a 20MP selfie camera and a 13MP+12MP dual rear camera.

Another credible leak pointed out that the Nokia 7.1 Plus could be powered by 2.2GHz Snapdragon 710 chipset and could be launched with up to 128GB of internal storage.

If the Nokia 7.1 Plus makes it to the global markets, it will most likely run stock Android 8.1 Oreo as part of Android One program (just like all other Nokia phones).

Meanwhile, Nokia is expected to launch Nokia 7.1 in India on October 11. Let’s wait and watch.
