HMD Global has launched a new midrange phone, Nokia 7.1, in the US. The Nokia 7.1 is remarkably similar to Nokia 6.1 plus (review) in terms of design and hardware being used but there are still a few relevant differences. The most notable one being the ‘PureDisplay screen technology’. The phone supports HDR 10 content on its full HD display panel, and can also convert SDR content to HDR in real time.

Nokia 7.1 Features

Nokia 7.1 is powered by 1.8GHz Snapdragon 636 paired and was announced in two variants – 3GB RAM, 32GB storage and 4GB RAM, 64GB storage.  Like all other Nokia Android phones launched this year, this is an Android One phone that currently runs Android 8.0 Oreo but will be upgraded to Android 9.0 Pie.
As mentioned above, the handset has a 5.84-inch HDR 10 compliant display. Most HDR 10 compliant smartphone screens that we have experienced so far have AMOLED panels, so it will be interesting to see how Nokia’s PureDisplay screen tech works in practice.
The 7.1 also has Zeiss branding (which doesn’t mean much, actually) with 12MP and 5MP (monochrome) dual rear cameras and 8MP front camera. Other features include 3060mAh battery, USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack,  Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, and NFC.

Nokia True Wireless Earbuds and Pro Wireless Earphones

Nokia also launched Bluetooth 5.0-based True Wireless earbuds with each earbud weighing just 3.5 grams and Nokia Pro wireless earphones with a neckband priced at $148 and $79 respectively.
