Nokia 8.1(aka Nokia X7) Announced Globally: Price and Specifications

HMD global has launched their much speculated Nokia 8.1 for the global audience at an event held in Dubai. Unlike the reports, the Nokia 8.1 is not exactly what we have been hearing all along in the leaks and rumors. This new smartphone is dubbed version of the Nokia X7 which was launched earlier this year in China. Without further ado,  let’s take a look at the specifications of this new Nokia mobile.

Nokia 8.1 Features

The Nokia 8.1 boasts a 6.18-inch Full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18.7:9 and 86.5% screen to body ratio. The display is covered under a 2.5D curved glass. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 710 SoC supported with Adreno 616. The processor is coupled with a RAM of 4GB and comes with internal storage of 64GB. The internal storage can be expanded up to 400GB with a microSD card.

The phone features a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 12MP(f/1.8 aperture) PDAF sensor coupled with a 13MP secondary camera with fixed focus and a Dual-tone LED flash. The rear primary shooter has Optical Image Stabilization(OIS) feature. On the front, we have a 20MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture.

The phone comes running on Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box as this device is a part of the Android One program. The phone also includes a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and features a Type-C USB port. The handset houses a battery capacity of 3500 mAh and supports 18W fast charging.

Nokia 8.1 Price and Availablity

The Nokia 8.1 is available in four colours namely: Dark Blue, Night Red, Magic Night Saver, and Night Black. The mobile has been priced at EUR 399. HMD Global could launch the Nokia 8.1 Plus in India on December 10.
