TL; DR
- The Nothing Ear (3) has leaked ahead of tomorrow’s official launch, showing a refreshed metal case with a plastic lid and the same transparent style.
- The earbuds will feature 12mm dynamic drivers, a new 95db “Super Mic,” and up to 45db adaptive noise cancellation with support for Hi-Res LDAC audio.
- Battery life is set at 10 hours on the earbuds themselves and 38 hours with the case.
Nothing is preparing to launch its fourth-generation earbuds, the Ear (3), tomorrow, but complete details have surfaced early. According to leaked marketing materials shared by Android Headlines, the new earbuds retain the company’s trademark transparent design while adding a metal case for durability, paired with a plastic lid. Buyers will have two color options to choose from: Silver and Black.

Nothing Ear (3) Specs
On the audio side, the Ear (3) comes with 12mm dynamic drivers and support for Hi-Res LDAC 24-bit audio. A major addition is the “Super Mic,” a 95db microphone built directly into the case.

This mic can be used for calls and potentially more creative uses, giving the earbuds a unique selling point I guess. Adaptive noise cancellation or ANC is rated at up to 45db, which isn’t any different from last year.

Battery life has seen an strange “upgrade” though, with Nothing promising 10 hours of continuous playback on the earbuds alone (likely with ANC off), and a total of 38 hours when factoring in the case.

The listening time on the earbuds is better than the Ear 2024 but the total time with the case is lower (the Ear 2024 was 40.5 hours). The battery life of the Ear 2024 with ANC turned on was pretty average, at just 5 hours per charge (24 hours with the case), and this shouldn’t be any different, at least as per the ANC-off numbers.

Nothing Ear (3) Launch Date
The Nothing Ear (3) follows last year’s Ear (2024) and marks the fourth iteration in the series. The official launch event is scheduled for September 18, meaning you won’t have to wait much longer for the full reveal. It is happening tomorrow.
