It’s time for yet another leak on Nothing Phone (2a) – the affordable mid-range from London-based smartphone maker Nothing. Earlier, we saw the Nothing Phone (2a) design leak suggesting a three-part glyph at the back and a different back design compared to Phone (2). Today, we have some crazy updates regarding the Nothing Phone (2a) specifications coming from a reputable tipster as the phone gears up for its MWC 2024 launch at $400.

Tipster Yogesh Brar took it to X (formerly Twitter) to showcase key specs that the upcoming Phone (2a) will bring on board. There’s a 120Hz OLED panel onboard. There’s a Dimensity 7200 SoC (that we already know of) paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage. As usual, more memory configurations will be available with the upcoming mid-ranger.

Nothing is expected to change the back design using a three-part glyph with granular control similar to Phone (2). The LEDs should be able to integrate with apps showing notifications accordingly. The leaked live images with a protective case show a horizontally stacked rear camera setup – the same one we saw in a sketch leaked earlier. The image hides the glyph but given the reference from the last update, we can say we are on the right track.

Optics-wise, Nothing Phone (2a) is expected to sport two 50MP camera setups – possibly a primary lens and an ultrawide. This is another reference to Phone (2) which carries the same 50+50MP camera setup. The front, on the other hand, is a 16MP sensor housed in a centrally placed cut-out.

Nothing Phone (2a) Price and Launch Date

When it comes to the launch, there’s a high possibility Nothing will debut the Phone (2a) at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 scheduled on February 27 in Barcelona. Additionally, we now have estimated pricing for the affordable midrange at $400. For context, the Nothing Phone (2) made its debut at $599 when it launched in June 2023.
