Nothing, the smartphone company co-founded by Carl Pei, has started teasing their upcoming smartphone—the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus. The phone, initially found on the Jio 5G compatibility list spotted by Smartprix, has officially been confirmed to launch on 31st July in India.
And before you start making up things in your head, the Phone (2a) Plus is going to be different from the Community Edition of the Phone (2a). Akis, the co-founder of Nothing, posted a tweet giving us insights on the upcoming Phone (2a) Plus.

He said, “With Phone (2a) Plus, we had the opportunity to create a beefed-up version for savvy users who demand more processing power, and we also made some improvements that didn’t require hardware design changes. Finally, we wrapped it up with a new kick-ass variant that reflects these upgrades. I’m super excited about the end result!”
So, this means that the Phone (2a) Plus is going to be more powerful than the Phone (2a). To recall, the Phone (2a) was powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC. An upgrade to the 7200 (or a beefed-up version of the 7200) could be the recently announced Dimensity 7350 chip.

Akis also stressed that they’ve made some changes that didn’t require many hardware changes. This likely means that the Phone (2a) Plus would be nearly identical to the Phone (2a) apart from a chip upgrade and new finish.
Since we’ll likely only see a chip upgrade and a new finish of the same Phone (2a), you can expect the Phone (2a) Plus to be priced at around ₹30,000 in India. We can also expect upgrades in the storage and RAM speeds, possibly UFS 3.1/UFS 4.0 and LPDDR5.
