TL; DR
  • Leaked renders of the Phone (3) reveal a highly asymmetrical and polarizing design, with oddly placed cameras.
  • The main camera bump is unusually thicker than the periscope, and the phone features slim bezels, a mysterious rear button, and two color options.
  • Launching on July 1 in London, the Phone (3) will pack a 6.7-inch OLED, Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, 50 MP periscope, and 5,200 mAh battery with 65W charging.

Just days before launch, renders of the Nothing Phone (3) appear to have leaked, and they’re stirring up a lot of debate. In usual recent Nothing fashion, the design is completely asymmetrical and arguably the most polarizing we’ve seen from the brand so far. Let’s take a look.

What stands out instantly is the layout on the back. The glyph matrix, which many expected to be centrally aligned, is oddly placed in the top-right corner. Meanwhile, the periscope camera sits on the top left, positioned alarmingly close to the edge. The main and ultrawide cameras are pushed to the bottom, making the entire setup look jumbled and unbalanced.

Things get even stranger when you look at the side profile. Several leaked angles show that the main camera is protruding heavily, as in it’s thicker than the periscope lens and seems to be almost 30% as thick as the phone’s overall frame.

On the front, the bezels are slim, and the overall look is nice. They (the bezels) also appear to be symmetrical. The renders show two colorways: black and white (or grey, depending on the lighting), and there also seems to be that mysterious button on the back (Nothing had shared this in a previous teaser).

Unsurprisingly, all of these design elements line up with the teasers Nothing has been drip-feeding through their social channels. So despite how polarizing it all looks, this might very well be the final design.

The Nothing Phone 3 is set to launch on July 1 at 10:30 PM IST in London, alongside the Headphone (1), which also follows a similar offbeat design language.

In terms of specs, here’s what to expect:

  • 6.7-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio
  • Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset
  • 5,200 mAh battery with 65W fast charging
  • A 50 MP periscope lens with 3X optical zoom, 60X hybrid zoom, and 10cm macro focusing
  • Based on Nothing OS 3.2 running Android 15
  • 5 years of major OS updates and 7 years of security patches

Between the specs and the eccentric design, the Phone (3) might just be Nothing’s boldest move yet. What are your thoughts on the Phone (3)’s design? Let us know in the comments section below.
