Nothing Phone (3) Roundup
It has been two years since the London-based tech startup Nothing is coming back with an iteration of the iconic Phone series. The Carl Pei-led brand’s journey in the smartphone market began with the Nothing Phone (1) in 2022, followed by the Phone (2) in 2023.
Upon gaining traction, the brand also entered the affordable mid-range category with the Nothing Phone (2a) and Phone (3a) lineups. However, now it’s time for the brand to release one of the most anticipated handsets of the year: the Nothing Phone (3). We’re excited to see what it has in store for us.

Nothing Phone (3) Release Date
Earlier this month, Nothing confirmed the release date for the Phone (3). The handset will break cover on July 1, 2025, at 10:30 PM IST in India. This is also the day when the company unveils the smartphone globally.
In India, the Phone (3) will be available via the e-commerce platform Flipkart. Interestingly, Nothing will manufacture the handset in its factory in Chennai, which should help the company keep the price in check.
Nothing Phone (3) Expected Price
While Nothing CEO Car Pei has hinted at a premium price for the Phone 3 — GBP 800 or around Rs. 90,000 — the company could struggle to sell a smartphone that expensive in India. It would put the Phone (3) directly in competition with smartphones like the iPhone 16 (review), Galaxy S25+ (review), the Galaxy S24 Ultra (review), Pixel 9 (review), and other popular flagships.
Hence, pricing the Phone (3) around Rs. 45,000 to 50,000 could be a safer bet for Nothing (at least for the base variant). In the United States, the phone should be available through the company’s official website and Amazon at around $600 to $700 for the baseline variant.

Nothing Phone (3): Design

With the Phone (3), Nothing seems to have killed the iconic Glyph Interface. Instead, the handset is said to include a matrix-dot display (at the top right corner of the rear panel). While the internet seems to be divided over the removal of the Glyph Interface, Nothing could have done it to appeal to a larger audience.
Nothing Phone (3): Display

The Nothing Phone (3) is rumored to feature a 6.7-inch 1.5K OLED screen with LTPO technology, which enables variable refresh rates of up to 120Hz. However, it’s worth mentioning that the Phone (2) featured an FHD+ screen. If the company doesn’t make any changes to the panel, we could also see the exact resolution on the Phone (3).
Nothing Phone (3): Processor
Unlike its predecessors, the Phone (3) will feature a significantly more powerful chipset: the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 (4nm). The octa-core chip features one 3.2GHz Cortex-X4 prime core, three 3.0GHz Cortex-A720 performance cores, two 2.8GHz Cortex-A720 balanced cores, and two 2.0GHz Cortex-A720 efficient cores.
It also comes with the Adreno 825 GPU, which offers on-device ray tracing for demanding video games. Other specifications include the Hexagon NPU, Triple 18-bit ISP with support for 4K60 HDR video capture, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth v6.0, and the Snapdragon X75 5G model (with support for sub-6GHz networks).
Lastly, the chipset supports up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. With such impressive specifications, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 should deliver a near-flagship experience, including smooth multitasking, high-end gaming, on-the-go video editing, and other demanding workflows.

While the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 should provide enough power for most users, it still falls behind the true flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which scores about 46% higher in single-core and 41% higher in multi-core Geekbench 6 CPU tests (indicative of the chipset’s peak performance).
Most recently, the Nothing Phone (3), with the model number “Nothing A024,” surfaced on the Geekbench 6 database. The handset had a similar core architecture to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, featured 16GB of RAM (likely the top model), and ran on the Android 15 operating system. It scored 2,076/6,577 points in the single/multi-core GeekBench 6 CPU test.

Nothing Phone (3): Operating System
Although the reports seem to be divided, the Phone (3) should come with Nothing OS 3.2 out of the box (unless the company decides to launch a minor update with the handset’s launch). However, there are some rumors about the smartphone releasing with Nothing OS 3.5 as well.
In addition, the Phone (3) should get five years of major operating system updates and seven years of security updates, which would bring it closer to the competition (especially since the handset might be more expensive than its predecessor).
Nothing Phone (3): Cameras
The Nothing Phone (2) has a dual-camera setup that includes a 50MP primary camera and a 50MP ultrawide camera with autofocus. While the Phone (3) is expected to retain those sensors, it will add a 50MP periscope telephoto lens that provides 3x optical zoom, 60x hybrid zoom, and 10cm telemacro capability.
On the front, the handset could get a 50MP selfie shooter (hopefully with autofocus), which is also an upgrade over the 32MP selfie camera on the Phone (2). Moreover, the cameras on the Phone (3) could be a significant upgrade over its predecessor, allowing buyers to capture sharp ultrawide and regular pictures, as well as telephoto shots, portraits, or macro images.
Nothing Phone (3): Battery & Charging Rate

The Nothing Phone (3) is said to feature a 5,150 mAh (or 5,200 mAh) battery, which is noticeably bigger than the 4,700 mAh battery on the Phone (2). The big upgrade, however, could be the support for 100W wired charging (more than twice the charging speed offered by its predecessor). However, elsewhere, we’ve also heard that the phone could feature 65W wired charging.
In either case, the Phone (3) is expected to ship with a larger battery and faster wired charging. The wireless charging and reverse wireless charging speeds (15W) will remain the same.

Nothing Phone (3): Connectivity
In terms of connectivity, the Phone (3) should largely remain the same as the Phone (2), with support for Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.3, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C 2.0 port. However, there’s a rumor about the inclusion of eSIM capability on the handset, which could be a relief for some buyers.
Nothing Phone (3): Rivals

At an expected price of around Rs. 45,000 to 50,000, the Phone (3) will compete with handsets like the OnePlus 13R, the realme GT 7, the Galaxy S24 FE, the vivo T4 Ultra, the Google Pixel 9a, and the iPhone 16e.
Nothing Headphone (1) Could Also Debut Alongside Phone (3)

Along with the Phone (3), Nothing is also expected to unveil its first over-ear headphones, the Headphone (1), at the July 1 launch event. Recently, real-life images of the device surfaced online, showcasing a design language similar to that of Nothing smartphones.
Some features of the headphones include physical buttons on the ear cup, a USB-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a price tag of around Rs. 25,000 in India.
