TL; DR
  • A new leak claims the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro will be the company’s first phone without a transparent back.
  • The device is said to include a larger Glyph Matrix and a new camera “plateau” similar to recent iPhone Pro models.
  • The regular Phone (4a) still keeps the transparent design and the new Glyph Bar.

A leak from the Nothing-focused account @gadget_bits on X has revealed several details about the upcoming Nothing Phone (4a) Pro just days before the March 5 “Built Different” launch event.

According to their recent post, the Phone (4a) Pro will be the first Nothing phone without a transparent rear panel. The post also says the phone will include a bigger Glyph Matrix. This means that the Glyph Matrix will be larger than the one we saw on the Nothing Phone (3).

The account added another important detail in a follow-up message. While the rear panel itself may no longer be transparent, the camera area and Glyph Matrix sit inside a transparent plateau, which keeps a small part of Nothing’s visual identity.

Yes, iPhone-Style Camera Plateau

The leak claims the cameras and the Glyph system are placed inside a raised plateau similar to the camera layout used on recent iPhone 17 Pro models. This plateau reportedly houses both the camera sensors and the Glyph Matrix.

Phone (4a) Pro Camera Specs Also Surface

Gadget Bits also shared camera specifications for the Phone (4a) Pro. The phone is said to include a 50MP main camera using a 1/1.56-inch sensor, paired with a 50MP telephoto camera without macro support and a maximum zoom range of 140X. An 8MP ultrawide camera is also listed, while the front camera is said to be 32MP. Video recording tops out at 4K at 30fps.

For context, previous leaks suggest the regular Nothing Phone (4a) may use a very similar camera setup but with a few limits. Those reports mention the same 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide, a 32MP selfie camera, and a telephoto camera with up to 70X zoom, while video recording on the front camera is said to be limited to 1080p.

Chipset Details Have Also Surfaced

Another detail shared by the same source relates to the core hardware. The regular Nothing Phone (4a) is said to run on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, while the Phone (4a) Pro could use the slightly more powerful Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. Both chips fall into the lower mid-range segment.

Battery capacity is expected to be the same across the two devices. Both models are tipped to include a 5,400 mAh battery with 50W wired charging.

Standard Phone (4a) Keeps the Classic Nothing Look

Official teasers so far focus on the regular Phone (4a), which still keeps the familiar transparent design in beautiful new colors including Pink. The phone brings a new vertical Glyph Bar with nine individually controllable mini LEDs that are 40% brighter than earlier A-series lighting. Nothing has also said the system is patented to produce a more natural glow without light bleed.

Phone (4a)

Launch on March 5

Nothing will reveal the Phone (4a) series during its March 5, 2026 event in London, where both the Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro are expected to be launched.
