Ola Electric has made a significant stride in the Indian market with the debut of its latest offering, the S1 Air electric scooter. Priced attractively at an introductory base rate of Rs 110 lakh (ex-showroom), this model now stands as the most affordable option in Ola’s scooter lineup. However, the latest news suggests that Ola’s pursuit of affordability doesn’t end here. The company is diligently working on yet another electric scooter, the S1X, which is slated to be an entry-level variant. The curtains are set to rise on this exciting addition on Independence Day, reaffirming Ola Electric’s unwavering commitment to delivering accessible and pioneering mobility solutions.

Ola S1X Set To Launch Soon

With its introductory pricing, the Ola S1 Air has already positioned itself as a more cost-effective option compared to its direct competitors. However, the upcoming S1X is expected to further augment its appeal, capturing a broader customer base. Notably, Ola has officially announced that the S1X will be introduced at an astonishingly competitive starting price of less than Rs 1 lakh. Presently, Ola Electric stands as the leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer in the nation, having achieved impressive sales figures, with 17,579 units sold in the month of June 2023.

Although specific product details have not been disclosed by the company, the presentation has intriguingly positioned the upcoming S1X as an ‘ICE killer’. Notably, the pricing of 125 cc petrol scooters in the Indian market typically extends to approximately Rs 1 lakh, which interestingly aligns with the projected position of the Ola S1X.

The true test lies in whether the S1X can substantiate these claims with its actual performance. A glimpse from the presentation showcases the S1X with a seemingly more minimalistic design compared to its counterparts, indicating potential cost-saving measures. It remains to be seen how well the S1X lives up to these expectations.

The Ola S1X’s range is anticipated to hold significant significance, with expectations hovering around the 100 km milestone, taking into account the certified 125 km range of the S1 Air. In contrast, the S1 Pro boasts an impressive certified range of 181 km per full charge, accompanied by a starting price of Rs 1.4 lakh (ex-showroom).

Given a budget of Rs 1 lakh, would you prioritize the forthcoming Ola S1X over conventional 125 cc petrol scooters? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below.
