The flagship smartphone space now has three prominent players: the OnePlus 13, the iQOO 13, and the Realme GT7 Pro. All are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, while mostly staying under the ₹70,000 price point. So, it only makes sense for us to compare them and see which is the best-performing champion in the segment.

Let’s dive into the nitty-gritty of these three devices by comparing their performance through synthetic benchmarks and a BGMI test. Here’s a quick rundown of the tests we’ll look at:

  • 50 Thread, 30 Minutes Throttling Test
  • AnTuTu v10
  • 3D Mark Wild Life Extreme
  • Geekbench CPU
  • Gaming Tests

Disclaimer: Synthetic benchmarks don’t necessarily reflect real-world performance. A slight difference in the scores may not even be noticeable in real-world usage.

Throttling Test

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is built on a new platform that helps it outperform the competition while staying relatively cool. This can be seen in the throttling test. All three phones perform exceptionally well in our stress test, which assesses a chipset’s capability under intense loads.

We ran a 50-thread, 30-minute throttling test on all three phones at 25°C ambient temperature. The OnePlus 13 throttled to 56% of its peak performance with an average GIPS score of 322,395. The device’s temperature rose to 44.7°C at the end of the test run.

Running the same test on the iQOO 13 yielded similar results. The iQOO 13 throttled to 72% of its peak performance with an average GIPS score of 322,706, with the device’s temperature hitting 43.2°C.

Running the test with the exact settings on the Realme GT7 Pro gave us surprising results. The GT7 Pro throttled to 71% of its peak performance with an average GIPS score of 281,611, with the temperature rising to 45°C.

Overall, the OnePlus 13 ran slightly hotter, but it sustained performance better than both the iQOO 13 and the Realme GT7 Pro.

AnTuTu v10

In the AnTuTu v10 tests, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC delivered similar results, with the differentiating factor being the type of VC cooling system each phone uses. In our tests, the OnePlus 13 achieved a respectable score of 2,506,024. In comparison, the iQOO 13 scored 2,723,687 points, while the Realme GT7 Pro secured 2,734,614 points.

The iQOO 13 tops the charts here, despite featuring the same chip, thanks to its dedicated performance chip.

3DMark Wild Life Extreme

Moving to the 3DMark Wild Life Extreme test, which checks GPU performance, the results for the three phones are not far apart. The iQOO 13 scored higher than both the OnePlus 13 and the Realme GT7 Pro, achieving a score of 6,125. The OnePlus 13 scored 5,974 in the same test, while the GT7 Pro got 5,944 points. Notably, in the loop test, the Realme GT7 Pro achieved the highest stability score at 80.5%, with the OnePlus 13 closely behind at 78% and the iQOO 13 at 75%.

Geekbench CPU

Now, let’s look at the Geekbench CPU scores. The OnePlus 13 scored 2,817 in single-core and 8,635 in multi-core. In comparison, the iQOO 13 scored 3,010 in single-core and 9,205 in multi-core, while the Realme GT7 Pro scored 2,888 in single-core and 9,062 in multi-core.

While the OnePlus 13 may have higher scores in some tests, the iQOO 13 delivers better sustained performance, followed by the Realme GT7 Pro.

Gaming Test

In real-world gaming, all three phones delivered exceptional performance—stable frame rates and minimal heating in most popular titles. They support AI resolution upscaling and frame interpolation, but the results vary due to their respective implementations.

realme GT 7 Pro

Since all three phones have similar display specifications, you can run titles at roughly the same settings across the board. That said, the OnePlus 13 takes advantage of special boosts in some titles, like the Ultra Extreme frame rate mode in BGMI.

At the end of the tests, we can see that the FPS numbers for all three phones are neck and neck, and all of them are highly capable gaming machines.

Conclusion

While the OnePlus 13 lags slightly behind the iQOO 13 in popular benchmark apps (and surpasses the Realme GT7 Pro in most tests), the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC ensures smooth performance nonetheless. The OnePlus 13 also performed exceptionally well in managing thermals, which was a pleasant surprise compared to the OnePlus 12.

What works in favor of the OnePlus 13 and, for that matter, the Realme GT7 Pro, are the OxygenOS 15/ColorOS 15 builds, which are much more refined and polished this time around.
