Today, we are comparing two compact smartphones, the OnePlus 13s and the vivo X200 FE. Both are priced at ₹55,000, and both target users looking for powerful cameras in a smaller form factor. However, the difference lies in the camera hardware and processing.
On paper, both have the same size main sensor, which is 1/1.56 inches with an f/1.8 aperture. But the vivo X200 FE adds more versatility with an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 3X telephoto lens with OIS. In contrast, the OnePlus 13s only has a 3X telephoto camera without OIS. The sensor used in the vivo’s telephoto lens is also larger.
This is not a deep-dive into every camera mode. We only compared a few images across different conditions. You can read this comparison and leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
1. Main Camera Shot

We began with a simple daylight image from the main cameras. The OnePlus 13s handled the dynamic range better and produced sharper details with a more neutral tone. The vivo X200 FE had a warmer, slightly yellow tone, and the image was softer overall.
While the OnePlus did slightly overexpose the image, that is something you can fix by pulling down the brightness manually. But the vivo lost highlight and detail information, which is harder to recover. So for this shot, the OnePlus 13s takes the win.

2. Telephoto Zoom Comparison

Now we compared a 4X shot on the OnePlus 13s against a 3X shot on the vivo X200 FE. And here, there is no competition. The vivo image is clearly better. The colors, especially the reds in the background, are handled much more naturally.
The vivo also retains more detail, whereas the OnePlus image falls flat. If we had to pick one strength in the OnePlus image, we honestly could not find one. This one is a clear win for the vivo X200 FE.
3. Indoor Image (1X)

Moving indoors, we shot using the main camera at 1x (24mm on OnePlus, 23mm on vivo). This time, the OnePlus 13s again pulls ahead. The vivo image looks artificial, with overexposed highlights and less detail, especially in the flower petals.
The OnePlus image looks more natural, both in terms of colors and textures. So this one also goes to the OnePlus 13s.
4. Close-Up Comparison

In this close-up test, the OnePlus 13s used its 2X optical zoom, while the vivo relied on 2X digital zoom. The results speak for themselves. The OnePlus image had sharper details, better depth of field, and more natural colors.

The vivo over-sharpened the image and leaned towards a warmer color profile, which did not look as accurate. So again, OnePlus 13s wins this round.

5. Low-Light Performance

In our low-light sample, shot at 24/23mm on both phones, the OnePlus 13s image appeared slightly hazy, and it did not manage highlights as well as the vivo. However, the vivo image suffered from excessive contrast.
Interestingly, the number plate on the right side was easier to read in the OnePlus shot, perhaps because of its more balanced contrast. While this could go either way, we would pick the vivo’s image here.

6. Portraits
Portrait photography is where the vivo X200 FE offers more flexibility. You get five focal lengths to choose from: 23mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, and 100mm. You also get more creative controls, including different filters and ZEISS bokeh styles. The OnePlus 13s only offers 2X portraits and fewer controls, but it has one key advantage—skin tones.

In our comparison, the OnePlus 13s produced more natural-looking skin, without any noticeable smoothing. The vivo X200 FE, even with beauty mode turned off, applied a fair bit of skin smoothing, which did not look very appealing, at least to us.

The OnePlus image also retained better texture and detail, making it feel more true to life. So, for portraits, even with fewer focal lengths, we preferred the OnePlus 13s for its better skin rendering. However, if you really want to go for Portrait photography, the vivo X200 FE is a no-brainer despite the skin smoothing.
