OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R are set for their global launch on January 23, 2024 – two months after their Chinese launch. Turns out the OnePlus 12R Chinese variant named the OnePlus Ace3 is set to make its launch in China on January 4, 2024, giving a peek into what the 12R/ Ace3 will bring to the table.

Tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) took it to Weibo (a Chinese social network site) to put out a tentative date for the OnePlus Ace3’s launch i.e. on January 4, 2024. For reference, this is almost three weeks ahead of the OnePlus 12 and 12R’s global launch.

We have already heard a lot about the OnePlus Ace3 or 12R but there’s more. DCS describes the Chinese variant as featuring a distinct gold color with a glass finish and a metallic luster textured frame. The folks at the Sparrow News compared the ‘anticipated’ color with a premium Rolls Royce that could give a tell on what DCS is referring to. It remains to be seen if this same colorway will be available with the global launch or not.

The OnePlus Ace3 or the OnePlus 12R functions as a sub-flagship phone reportedly powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen2. It hosts UFS 4.0 storage flanked with LPDDR5x RAM.

The phone hosts a 6.78” 1.5K BOE X1 Oriental curved display with a punch-hole at the center. It borrows some of the specs from onePlus 12 including the aforementioned display paired with 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.

On the optics front, we have a 16MP selfie plus a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP main, 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro shooter. We heard about a 32MP 2x telephoto on the device although we have to wait to see what’s final. Lastly, the device sports a 5,500mAh battery paired alongside 100W wired and no wireless charging, of course.
