He said in an interview with Bloomberg, “We’re building an ecosystem of smart devices. We’ll start with simpler products, wireless earbuds. We’re going to have multiple products throughout the year, not just audio products, and eventually, we want to build it so these devices talk to each other.”

With the arrival of Nothing wireless earbud, Carl will invite strong competition from tech giants like Apple, Samsung, Sony, Bose, and his own ex-company OnePlus.

After leaving OnePlus in late 2020, Carl Pei announced Nothing in January 2021. The new venture has already achieved $15 Million funding from GV, Alphabet’s venture capital unit. Carl has also managed to attract funds from notable investors like Steve Huffman, CEO of Reddit; Kevin Lin, co-founder of Twitch; and Tony Fadell, creator of iPod among others.

‘Nothing’ is a consumer technology venture based in London. Carl Pei has been always on the list of top influencers in the world since the days he stepped into the smartphone industry. And this time, there’s a fair chance that he would get a close challenge from his own former company.
