In recent times, the OnePlus Nord 2 has been in news for the wrong reasons. There have been a few reports claiming Nord 2 explosion. While the brand has contested such claims fearlessly.
Once again another OnePlus Nord 2 owner stirred up a controversy claiming Warp Charger of the device has exploded while being plugged in. OnePlus authorities have acknowledged the incident and have taken the required action. Here’s what happed so far:
OnePlus Nord 2 Warp Charger Explodes
As per a Twitter thread, a user named Jimmy Jose with the handle name @TheGlitchhhh has tweeted that his warp charger of OnePlus Nord 2 exploded making a huge blast sound. The accident also blew up the socket it was plugged in. The user, however, said that the phone wasn’t affected and is working fine after the incident.
Mr Jose has tagged the OnePlus support team upon which he was asked to visit a service center. The technician told him that voltage fluctuation is the reason for the blast along with the malfunctioning of his socket board which caused a short circuit. The victim was assured to get a new charger from the company which he received after three days of the incident.
What did OnePlus say?
Responding to the incident, OnePlus in an emailed statement to Gadgets 360 has said, “We take any claim like this very seriously. The user has handed over the damaged OnePlus Charger to our service centre and has been offered a replacement. OnePlus chargers contain built-in capacitors which control and store energy. In this case, after a thorough analysis, the capacitors have remained intact concluding that the blast has been caused by external factors such as voltage fluctuations.”

Well, this is not the first time OnePlus has landed into controversies. Previously, OnePlus Nord 2 phone was reportedly exploded in the gown of a Delhi advocate. However, the company has further tried to get the phone for detailed diagnosis but the user is restricted to hand over the handset. In another incident, the Nord 2 exploded after a couple of days of its purchase which the company blames external factors.

OnePlus Nord 2 has debuted in the country in July powered by Dimensity 1200 SoC, 6.44-inch FHD+ AMOLED 90Hz display, 4500mAh battery with 65W warp charger, 50MP triplet rear camera, and 32MP selfie shooter. The phone is currently retailing at the starting price of INR 27,999 with a storage option of up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB ROM.
The phone is expected to come with a price slash during the Amazon Great Indian Festival sale which is scheduled to commence from October 3.
