TL; DR
- OPPO Find X series phones now support near-lossless Instagram uploads, helping videos retain more of their original quality after posting.
- OPPO and Instagram have partnered to launch the OPPO LUMO Creator Program, bringing monthly challenges, mentorship, certification, rewards, and creator growth opportunities.
For years, Apple largely dominated the conversation around social media optimization. iPhones consistently delivered better-looking photos and videos on apps like Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok because of deeper platform-level integration and closer collaboration with developers.
Samsung eventually followed with partnerships of its own, improving camera access and social media optimization on Galaxy devices. The gap narrowed over time, though many creators still preferred iPhones for consistency when uploading content.

Now OPPO is taking a similar route. The company has announced a strategic collaboration with Instagram in India, combining OPPO’s imaging technology with one of the world’s largest content discovery platforms. The partnership is centered around helping creators capture, publish, and grow more effectively using their smartphones.
The timing is notable. Google recently expanded support for Android creators through improvements across apps and services, while Instagram has finally begun paying more attention to larger-screen experiences by optimizing its app for tablets. The broader creator ecosystem is becoming far less dependent on a single hardware platform than it was a few years ago.
OPPO LUMO Creator Program Launches for Emerging Creators

At the center of the collaboration is the new OPPO LUMO Creator Program, an always-on initiative designed to support creators across India, particularly micro and nano creators who rely primarily on smartphones for content production.
According to OPPO, the program combines the company’s LUMO Image Engine with Instagram’s content distribution platform to help creators improve storytelling, increase visibility, and access growth opportunities that are often difficult for smaller creators to find.
The company says the initiative is designed around the reality of India’s creator economy, where regional creators and mobile-first content are driving a significant share of engagement across social platforms.
Near-Lossless Instagram Uploads Come to the OPPO Find X Series
I think the best part about this partnership is a new upload optimization system for the OPPO Find X series.
OPPO says Find X users will be able to upload videos to Instagram with near-lossless quality preservation. The goal is to reduce the visible quality degradation that often occurs when social media platforms compress videos.
This could be one of the more practical benefits of the collaboration. Instead of capturing footage at a high bitrate only to lose detail after uploading, the integration aims to keep the final Instagram post much closer to the original recording.
Monthly Challenges, Mentorship, and Creator Certification
The OPPO LUMO Creator Program will feature monthly themed challenges focused on youth culture, everyday stories, and regional narratives from across India.
Creators will submit content through Instagram using dedicated contest hashtags. Entries will be judged based on engagement, creativity, originality, and cultural relevance.
Winners will receive content amplification across OPPO India and Instagram channels, helping their work reach a larger audience. The program will also provide access to masterclasses, mentorship sessions, learning opportunities, and on-ground experiences.
A Meta x OPPO certification program will also be available for winners, adding an industry-backed credential to the initiative.
The first monthly challenge opened on May 29, 2026, with submissions accepted until the end of each month.
Rewards and Global Exposure
The program will recognize creators across Gold, Silver, and Bronze categories. Rewards include cash prizes, the latest OPPO smartphones, and IoT products.
OPPO says standout creators may also receive international exposure through a global showcase program, allowing selected entries to reach audiences beyond India and compete for larger recognitions.
Creator-Focused Vodcast Also Announced
Alongside the program, OPPO is launching an expert-led vodcast series led by Ankit Rihal (Meta), Simon Liu (OPPO), Vikram Channa (Warner Bros. Discovery), celebrity photographer Joseph Radhik, travel creator Tanya Khanijow, and comedian Kenny Sebastian.
The first episode will be published on June 6 through the OPPO India YouTube channel.
