Oppo has finally launched the second generation of its foldable smartphone, Oppo Find N2 along with the first flip phone from the brand, Oppo Find N2 Flip. With lighter weight and slimmer devices, OPPO aims to challenge Samsung’s dominance in the foldable segment. OPPO’s first attempt OPPO Find N (review) made a positive first impression on us with this more practical form factor compared to the Samsung Z Fold line-up. If you are planning to check out OPPO Find N2, you will have to travel outside India as OPPO has reserved the Find N2 for China only.
Having said that, OPPO has plans to make Find N2 Flip available globally, so you can expect it to debut in India sometime in 2023.
OPPO Find N2 Specs
Available only in China, for now, Oppo Find N2 seems to be a phenomenal upgrade over its predecessor. Talking about the hardware, the improvements in hinge design aka Flexion Hinge with lesser parts and high-strength materials made the hinge view shrink by 67%. Resulting in decrease of overall phone weight to 233g and device width to 7.4mm when open.
Coming with the powerful processor Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, the device’s computational power for processing and gaming increases automatically. While the display seems to be an upgrade too from a normal AMOLED to 7.1-inches LTPO AMOLED and 120Hz dynamic refresh rate. Additionally, a layer of anti-reflection film on display improves the screen’s performance in bright sunlit environments. The secondary display on the other hand has now a 120 Hz refresh rate too on the size of a 5.5-inches screen and a 2120 x 1080-pixel display resolution.
Oppo Find N2 packs up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM now but with the same UFS 3.1 storage support of up to 256 GB (non-expandable). On the brighter side, Oppo Find N2 is now 38g shy of weight and 0.6 mm slimmer as well which is a big deal when you’re upgrading hardware and increasing battery size as well. With a 50 MP + 48 MP + 32 MP Hasselblad setup for rear lenses and a dual setup of 32 MP at the front, the camera is a definitive upgrade in Oppo Find N2.
Oppo Find N2 Flip specifications
Talking about Oppo Find N2 Flip, the phone can be directly compared to any Flip phone for its design such as Samsung Galaxy Flip 4 or Moto Razr. Hence going directly for the specifications, the Oppo Find N2 Flip sports a 6.7-inches Dynamic AMOLED display with 2640 x 1080 screen resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. While the front cover display is 3.3 inches AMOLED which triumphs over both Samsung and Moto’s flip phones.
Going with MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ in the flip phone, Oppo is offering 256GB as its highest storage option and 8GB as the highest RAM option. A much bigger battery of 4300 mAh combined with fast charging is one-up on competitors. The dual camera setup of 50 MP + 8 MP provides smooth shots anytime while a 32 MP selfie snapper helps as well.
Both new phones are using ColorOS 13 based on Android 13. But the question is who will use these devices and how far will they challenge the competitors of the Foldable and Flip smartphone domain.
