After a series of leaks, Oppo officials have confirmed the existence of the Oppo Find X8 series. OPPO executive Zhou Yibao revealed on Weibo that the Find X8 series is launching soon with new battery technology.
Glacier batteries on Find X8 series
According to Zhou, the Find X8 series will debut with high-density silicon-carbon anode batteries, which the company calls “Glacier Batteries.” This battery technology was first introduced on the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro in June. These batteries offer increased capacity within the same physical size compared to traditional lithium-ion batteries.

These Glacier Batteries were developed by the Oppo group in partnership with the Chinese battery maker CATL. We can likely expect to see these batteries in upcoming Oppo, OnePlus, and Realme flagship devices.
A previous rumor from Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station suggests that the Oppo Find X8, Find X8 Pro, and the Find X8 Ultra will feature 5600mAh, 5700mAh, and 6200mAh batteries, respectively.

Apple inspired Magnetic accessories
The Glacier Battery isn’t the only standout feature of the Find X8 series. The Oppo group has also been rumored to be working on an Apple MagSafe-like magnetic accessory system, and Zhou confirmed the existence of this project in the replies to his Weibo post.
In summary, the Oppo Find X8 series is tipped to launch in China by mid-October. The phones are expected to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC, a 10x periscope camera system, and an additional action button.
