OPPO Find X9 Pro Review: Design and Build

OPPO Find X9 Pro

The Find X9 Pro adopts a new design language that feels more mature than anything OPPO has designed in the past few years. The first impression comes from the layout on the back. The rectangular camera housing sits on the top left and is positioned so that the index finger naturally avoids the lens array in both portrait and landscape orientations. The overall geometry keeps the phone comfortable to hold.

The device measures 8.25mm thick and weighs 224 grams. Despite the large battery inside it does not feel top heavy or bulky. The balanced weight distribution is noticeable the moment you hold it. The Titanium Charcoal finish looks nice, but the Silk White variant has a pearlescent shimmer that looks even better in person. OPPO has improved the texture and feel of the surface.

OPPO Find X9 Pro

The Find X9 Pro comes with IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings. This is a combination that’s now common on Chinese flagships. It translates to dust protection, submersion protection, and even resistance to high pressure hot water jets.

Find X9 Pro

On the left side is the new Snap Key. It is a multifunction button that can be remapped to tasks like launching the voice recorder, controlling the flashlight, opening the camera, accessing translation, or managing sound profiles.

The Snap Key is tied to OPPO’s AI Mind Space by default. A short press captures the screen, a long press attaches a voice note, and a double press opens the Mind Space interface. Once I got used to it, I found myself using it quite often.

Find X9 Pro Snap Key

On the right side is the Quick Button. You can double tap it to launch the camera, press once to shoot, and hold it for burst mode. I use it for launching the camera app, and that’s it.

The phone feels sturdy in hand thanks to the aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on the front. The fit and finish are excellent and the flat sides give the phone a modern aesthetic that pairs well with its extremely thin bezels.

OPPO Find X9 Pro Review: Display

Find X9 Pro

The display is one of the strongest parts of the Find X9 Pro. It features a 6.78 inch flat LTPO AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate that adapts from 1 Hz to 120 Hz depending on the content. The bezels are extremely thin at 1.15 mm on all sides. This gives the display a truly borderless look and makes content appear as if it is floating on top of the phone.

Brightness is excellent. The display hits 1800 Nits in high brightness mode and a peak of 3600 Nits outdoors. Under direct sunlight the screen remains legible and the color accuracy does not drop. OPPO’s P3 display engine manages color very well and the phone supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and HDR Vivid. HDR on Netflix and YouTube looks vibrant and highlights remain controlled.

Find X9 Pro

Where the display stands out is its ability to drop all the way down to 1 Nit brightness. Combined with 2160 Hz PWM dimming, it becomes extremely comfortable to use in low light. The display is also protected by a new Crystal Shield Glass that is more durable and less prone to shattering.

Find X9 Pro

The auto brightness adjustment is also very good. It transitions smoothly, reacts quickly to changes in ambient light, and does not aggressively dim unnecessarily. Overall, the display quality is really good on the OPPO Find X9 Pro.

OPPO Find X9 Pro Review: Speakers and Haptics

Find X9 Pro

The OPPO Find X9 Pro uses a dual stereo speaker setup. The speakers get loud and the sound has enough depth to keep vocals clear at high volume. The balance between the top and bottom speakers isn’t even but it’s not really a deal-breaker.

Haptics are strong and precise. The X axis motor offers sharp taps and the integration across the UI feels very well done. Typing feedback is precise and the haptic response across the system enhances the overall feel of the software. While not the strongest in the industry, it is among the better implementations on a flagship.

OPPO Find X9 Pro Review: Software

ColorOS 16

ColorOS 16 based on Android 16 feels incredibly refined on the Find X9 Pro. The animations are fluid, the transitions are consistent, and the entire interface feels unified. There is almost no bloatware. This is rare on many Chinese flagships, so it is good to see OPPO keeping the experience clean this time.

ColorOS 16 has an improved layout for quick settings, cleaner menus, and deep customization for icons, colors, always on display, and the lock screen. The stability is impressive and I have not faced any major issues during my usage.

OPPO AI

Find X9 Pro

AI features continue to be a major highlight. Mind Space acts like a visual memory board. You can collect screenshots, text, images, voice notes, or anything you want to save for later. It organizes everything automatically. The Snap Key makes capturing and storing content even easier. It now even connects to Gemini, so you can ask Gemini questions related to Mind Space now.

Find X9 Pro

The AI LinkBoost improves network reliability by reinforcing network strength in areas where the signal drops, such as elevators, crowded basements, or during high speed travel. This is noticeable in real use. Apps like WhatsApp, Instagram, and YouTube load faster even when traveling between network zones.

OPPO has added several new AI tools this year. The updated AI Recorder can transcribe conversations, sort speakers automatically, and generate quick summaries while the session is still going on.

There is also AI Scan, which cleans up documents, notes, or whiteboard shots by fixing angles, removing shadows, and producing clear images or PDFs.

OxygenOS 16

The camera app now includes features like AI Relight, which adjusts and improves lighting for portrait shots captured in dim environments, with manual control over the strength of the effect.

ColorOS continues to bundle the rest of OPPO’s AI toolkit too. This includes things like AI Eraser, Reflection Eraser, AI 4K Clarity, AI Unblur, AI Summary, AI Speak, AI VoiceScribe, AI Perfect Shot, AI Recompose, AI Translate app, Circle to Search, AI Notes updated with mind map support, and AI Writer for posts or messages. It is one of the best AI suites available on Android.

There’s now a dedicated page for OPPO AI in the Settings app. OPPO also claims that all user data runs through its Private Computing Cloud, keeping information encrypted during processing.

Find X9 Pro

OPPO has promised 5 years of OS and 6 years of security patches, which puts it close to the longest update cycles available on Android.

OPPO Find X9 Pro Review: Biometrics

Find X9 Pro

The ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is one of the highlights of the device. It unlocks quickly and accurately. Face unlock works well in good lighting and is reasonably fast, though the fingerprint sensor is more secure and consistent. The placement is comfortable and the accuracy is still good even when fingers are slightly wet.

OPPO Find X9 Pro Review: Performance

Find X9 Pro

The OPPO Find X9 Pro is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 platform, built on TSMC’s 3 nm process, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. After using the phone for several weeks, the performance has been extremely consistent.

Here are some benchmarks:

Benchmark TestScore / Result
AnTuTu v11.0.43,435,464
AnTuTu Storage Test142,205; Sequential Read: 3737 MB/s; Sequential Write: 3293 MB/s
Geekbench 6 (CPU)Single-Core: 3270; Multi-Core: 9644
Geekbench 6 (GPU – OpenCL)22,057
Geekbench 6 (GPU – Vulkan)28,559
3DMark Wild Life Extreme TestScore: 6529; Average FPS: 39.10
3DMark Wild Life Extreme Stress TestBest Loop: 6603; Lowest Loop: 4555; Stability: 69%

There are no spikes in thermals, no unexpected slowdowns, and no scheduling issues, which is something really good. The chipset may not score the absolute highest numbers compared to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in peak performance, but it’s still very capable.

Find X9 Pro

ColorOS 16’s animation engine also plays a role here, keeping animations coherent even when multiple processes are running in the background. The phone barely ever gets warm during normal use, and even when pushed hard, the temperature rise is not too much. Much of this is due to the vapor chamber redesign, which OPPO claims has improved heat dissipation efficiency.

For gaming, the Find X9 Pro has been one of the most stable devices this year. BGMI runs at 120FPS with full stability and no frame dips during extended sessions. Even temperatures are well controlled. Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves hold 60 FPS throughout long sessions without dropping frames, and again, without any overheating.

The R100 Shanhai Communication Enhancement Chip also helps maintain consistent internet throughput during gameplay. Switching between Wi-Fi access points is seamless, and even in crowded networks, I did not encounter major packet loss or jitter.

Overall, the OPPO Find X9 Pro delivers great performance.

OPPO Find X9 Pro Review: Cameras

Find X9 Pro

The camera system on the OPPO Find X9 Pro is where the phone truly separates itself from most 2025 flagships. This year, OPPO has upgraded three major components of the imaging pipeline: the main sensor, the telephoto sensor, and the selfie camera. I have been using the Find X9 Pro for more than two weeks now as my primary camera phone and the overall experience has been consistently impressive across different lighting conditions, focal lengths, and shooting styles.

(Note: We are still updating the review with camera samples. Please check back later.)

Main Camera

The primary camera now uses the new Sony LYT828, a 1/1.28-inch sensor with a very bright f/1.5 aperture. This alone gives the camera a significant advantage when it comes to light intake. The improvement is immediately noticeable when compared to the previous generation. Bright scenes retain detail across the frame, the contrast curve feels more natural, and the HDR tuning balances faces and bright skies without creating harsh halos.

In some very specific high contrast settings, you may still see minimal blooming around intense light sources, but it is controlled well. It leans slightly toward a natural look rather than over sharpening, though if you zoom in heavily, some images do show sharpening effects. I personally like this approach because it keeps the images lively without turning them into watercolor textures.

In low light, the main camera on the Find X9 Pro performs extremely well. The larger sensor helps capture good detail. Shadows have detail and the colors remain balanced even when light sources are unevenly distributed. The phone does a great job holding onto highlight texture. Neon signs, car headlights, or bright lamps do not blow out the way they sometimes did on the Find X8 Pro (most of the time).

Using the Neon filter in these conditions produces some of the most dramatic low light photos I have taken on any smartphone this year.

Ultra-wide

The ultra wide camera is not the main focus of the X9 Pro, but it does well there too. It uses a 50MP sensor with a 15mm focal length and an f/2 aperture, giving clean daylight shots with controlled distortion and colors that stay close to the main camera. Edge sharpness drops a bit in detailed areas like foliage, though it stays manageable.

Low light performance is fine as long as there is some ambient light, and in darker scenes the texture softens while noise stays under control. The lens can handle macro-style shots too, with usable results even if it remains behind the telemacro from the telephoto lens.

Telephoto

The telephoto camera is the most impressive upgrade on the Find X9 Pro. OPPO is using the new Samsung HP5 sensor, a massive 200 MP module with a 1/1.56-inch sensor size and an f/2.1 aperture. This combination is rare in the industry. It matches the size of some main cameras on 2025 flagships and is paired with a bright aperture too.

At 3X, the lens gives a natural depth of field that feels closer to a compact camera. Portraits at this focal length look realistic, with a smooth background falloff that does not rely on software. Even at 6X the image maintains a good amount of detail.

While the X8 Pro had a 6X optical telephoto, that lens suffered in low light because of its small aperture. The X9 Pro’s 3X telephoto actually performs better than the X8 Pro’s 6X in many conditions, especially indoors or during evening shots.

When you zoom further, up to around 15X, the telephoto continues to deliver sharp and natural images without relying heavily on AI reconstruction. At around 30X, AI starts to creep in a lot but the image remains usable. The stabilization is good on this lens.

Digital zoom maxes out at 120X. While it is more of a novelty feature, it performs fine in daylight conditions.

50X zoom

50MP Default Photos

For general use, the 50MP default photos (8K) remain the best balance between speed and quality, and they work consistently across all three rear lenses.

The shutter response is fast and reliable, and even the 26MP or 12MP outputs in dimmer scenes maintain strong detail thanks to the image engine’s tuning.

Hassebald Ultra-Clear Mode

The Find X9 Pro’s 200MP Hasselblad Ultra-Clear Mode (16K) is easily one of the most impressive additions to the camera system. Because this is a high-resolution sensor, it captures a massive amount of detail when the phone is steady and the lighting is right.

The mode takes a moment to capture (there’s a nice progress animation too) and process since each pixel receives less light and the phone stacks multiple frames to maintain clarity. The results look exceptionally crisp with rich texture, especially in daylight or controlled indoor lighting.

OPPO has also upgraded Live Photos to 4K on the Find X9 Pro. These clips capture three seconds of high-resolution motion before and after the shutter press, producing mini-videos that look sharp and natural.

Regular Live Photos still exist in 2K, and the 4K version is available only in the Ultra-Clear Mode for now. You can also use AI to generate a slow-motion video instantly from any Live Photo.

Macro

One of the most important changes on the X9 Pro telephoto is the addition of a 10cm telemacro capability. This has been a highlight of my testing experience. Being able to get that close with a true telephoto lens creates incredibly detailed close ups, from textures on leaves to the surface of fabrics to tiny objects that simply do not look the same on a wide lens.

The compressed perspective feels unique and gives macro shots a distinct character. This is something the standard Find X9 cannot do because its telephoto has a minimum focus distance of around 42 centimeters. The X9 Pro therefore becomes far more versatile for creative photography, especially for users who enjoy capturing insects or objects at close range.

Portraits

Portrait photography on the Find X9 Pro is outstanding. Edge detection is near perfect in most scenarios and depth mapping is very precise. Background compression at 3X is really good and faces retain realistic texture with no plastic skin.

When beautification is off, the phone fully respects that choice and does not secretly smooth skin like some other brands do. You can continuously zoom up to 3.6X in Portrait mode and maintain excellent results throughout. There is no 6X option, which is a miss.

Front Camera

The front camera also receives a major upgrade. OPPO has moved from a 32MP sensor without autofocus to a 50MP sensor with autofocus. This is a huge leap forward and the results show immediately. Daylight selfies retain far more texture, and group selfies are easier to get right because the autofocus adjusts automatically.

Low light performance is also improved thanks to the better light intake (f/2.4 vs f/2). You can still lose a little detail in very dark environments, but the improvement over the previous generation is substantial.

Master Mode and XPAN Mode

OPPO continues to enhance the shooting experience with Master Mode and XPAN Mode. Master Mode gets a new interface. You can shoot in JPG, JPG Max, RAW, and RAW Max. The RAW files from the X9 Pro have excellent latitude for color grading and shadow recovery.

What bothers me about the updated Master mode is how slow it feels when switching filters. Other modes let me move through options quickly, but here I have to scroll through each filter one by one until I reach the one I need.

XPAN Mode has been redesigned visually and functionally. The 65:24 aspect ratio looks very cinematic, and the updated interface mirrors the layout of a Hasselblad film camera.

OPPO has added more film simulations, including Original, Black and White, Fresh, Clear, Emerald, and Neon. The negative film processing animation is back, but I wish there was an option to disable that in the settings. Any regular photo can also be converted to XPAN in the Photos app using the preset crop option.

Videos

Video performance on the Find X9 Pro is easily among the best on Android. The phone supports 4K120 on both the main and telephoto lenses, and Dolby Vision HDR recording too. The new Pro Video Mode includes LOG recording certified by ACES, allowing serious videographers to color grade footage with far more flexibility.

Footage from the main and telephoto lens is exceptionally detailed with smooth highlight roll off, controlled noise, and stable exposure transitions.. Low light video on the main sensor is very solid and the telephoto performs surprisingly well too (though some noise can be seen). The ultra wide does struggle in extreme low light.

Stabilization across the board is strong and reliable. The camera also finally allows switching between the front and rear cameras while recording, up to 4K60. Cinematic Mode has been upgraded to 4K30 for both front and rear lenses, making it significantly more useful than the older 1080p versions. The selfie video quality is clean with good stabilization, though in very dim lighting you may notice a bit of grain.

Overall, the OPPO Find X9 Pro offers one of the most complete and versatile camera systems of 2025. The upgrades to the main sensor, the major leap in telephoto hardware, and the new autofocus selfie camera create a package that excels in both photography and videography.

OPPO Find X9 Pro Review: Battery Life and Charging

Find X9 Pro

If there’s one area where the OPPO Find X9 Pro absolutely stands out, it’s battery life. With its massive 7,500 mAh dual-cell battery, the Find X9 Pro easily delivers the longest endurance I’ve ever seen on a flagship smartphone.

Across my usage, which includes camera testing, long gaming sessions, navigation, HDR video playback, messaging, and regular social media, the phone consistently got me around 10 – 13 hours of screen-on time, sometimes even more under lighter loads.

On several days, I stretched usage close to two days without plugging it in. This is unusual for a flagship smartphone, especially one with such a capable display and camera system.

Standby drain is also extremely low. Overnight drops stay in the 1 to 2 percent range, and even with Always-On Display enabled through LTPO, the drain is about 5% or less.

Charging is handled by 80W SUPERVOOC, along with 50W AIRVOOC wireless and 55W PPS support. A full charge takes less than an hour, and a quick top-up from 0 to 50 percent takes roughly 20 minutes.

Find X9 Pro

Battery health is said to retain 80 percent capacity after five years, as per OPPO. The phone even supports bypass charging during gaming, routing power directly to the phone instead of the battery to reduce heat and prolong cell life.

Review Verdict: Should You Buy the OPPO Find X9 Pro?

After spending considerable time with the OPPO Find X9 Pro, it’s clear that this is one of the most complete flagship smartphones of the year. The display is among the best you can get, the performance is stable, and the battery life is unmatched in the flagship segment.

And the biggest highlight is the camera system. The new LYT-828 main sensor, the massive 200 MP HP5 telephoto, and the new 50 MP AF selfie camera combine to create one of the most versatile imaging systems.

If you want a flagship that does not compromise on battery life, screen quality, or build, and delivers some of the best photography and videography performance on a smartphone while providing a polished and fluid software experience, the OPPO Find X9 Pro stands out as one of the best options available in India.
